Don Corleone

I know a few people were asking about gsd"s in KNPV.  Go to Jyl's link above and it is under K9 training videos.

I think it's safe to say Mink produced more than good hips.

Something for everyone to consider? Some critique these dogs as if you were there. Unless your on the business end of a dog you don't truly know whats going on with that particular dog at that particular time. Food for thought.

Wow, runfast, I guess judges should be taken out of trials.  That is all anyone was doing.  We look at the videos and offer our opinions.  If you can't take another person's opinion, please don't take your dog to a trial because the judge is going to give you a critique.  I never said any of these dogs were bad, only stated what I saw in their performances.  Maybe I should blend in with the rest of the sheep and say, "wow, I have no idea what I am looking at and all these dogs are perfect!"  All of the dogs I commented on are dead, so I don't think they will be perusing my posts and feeling down in the dumps.  Go back and watch Timmy from the Bad Neighborhood's video.  If you think that I'm not going to comment on a well known producer that won't go into the blind, you are crazy.

If I have offended you, please accept my apology.  From now on, I will say that every dog is fantastic and I will only read and post on the grooming topics.  Because ultimitely, that is what this board is for.  How to groom your GSD.  Very interesting stuff, indeed!

Runfast, what kind of brushes do you use?  How often do you brush?

by runfast on 20 July 2007 - 17:07

lololol I laughed so hard at that one.

I use my own version of the furminator and try to get in a stroke or two every other day to cut down on shedding. I find a good bath one day and good brushin the next will make for a nice happy G-Shep.

No you didn't offend me at all none taken. Sure everyone is entitled to thier opinion(well except illegal aliens that is) they get what ever they want. Anywho a good portion of folks just haven't been on the business end of a dog before and until they have a few under their belts they truely just don't know. And if you have kudos at least you know what I am talking about.

I'm slowly working my way through these videos.  It is great to watch some fo the "names" work.  Of course I'm skipping around to watch the ones in our dogs bloodlines first.  Thanks again Jyl for posting tis link.

I am like you all on this site....I really enjoy to watch nice working dogs. I like Pike and also Okar Karthago....I am not a fan of the Karthago dogs either. Okar is a VERY nice dog. I really like his hold and bark. Pike is just a strong dog. My Czech female that I have is a grand daughter to Pike...the rest of her pedigree is all Czech. I am still looking at some of the dogs on this video. The one thing that i noticed is that there are not any females on there....

I can recommend watching the Danish dog Jabina Querry work. I love the obedience and the control.

www.schaeferhund24.de/index.php

I can't display the complete link here for some reason. You need to click "zu den Videos" under Jabina Querry. You then have an option to watch several of them. They were taken at the last WUSV-WM where he placed 5th. Freifolge (off lead heeling), technische Uebungen (technical exercises - down in motion, etc.), Apportieren - Voraus (retrieve - send ahead) and Schutzdienst (potection work) are all individual videos but well worth watching.

This site is under construction and will continue to host videos of lots of dogs. So you might want to bookmark. Unfortunately, only in German!

Chris,  Thanks for the link.  That was a great video. I'll watch more as time permits.

GILDO Vom Korbelbach.............!

BEST Video on there and the laughing from the crowd when he built the helpers scratch pants and wouldn't out was classic!!

He just might be the most insane dog of all of the ones I saw, he even surpassed Timmy!

Now I can see why he produced a lot of police dogs.
