Sogne Fjord German Shepherds

Sogne Fjord German Shepherds is a small hobby kennel located in Visalia, California. I grew up in a shepherd home and was a junior handler for many years. I was very fortunate and not only got to show some gorgeous shepherds as a child, but also had a Great Dane, an Akita, a Sheltie, and a Golden. I also worked at fun matches was lucky to let everyone hand off their dogs to a kid who would show anything on four legs.
 
Even after getting to work with almost every breed out there, GSDs have remained my true love. I was blessed a few years ago when Asgard GSD let me take home one of there O'Connor x. Tequila Sunrise sons, Asgard's Cyberguy. All I wanted was a good, sound companion. What I got was my best buddy and a dog that came from a lot of the dogs I had known as a child. What a joy he is. Cy as he is called came home at 17 months. Within 24 hours he had learned all of his obedience commands in Norwegian and on hand signals. He also became a ball fiend and has a prey drive like I have rarely seen. More often than not he can be seen snoozing with a ball in his mouth. Six months later I got a rescue dog, that frankly I did not think would make it due to the poor condition she was in and her less than sunny personality. Bailey not only made it but eventually thrived. To say that she was a hellion is kind. She is the most stubborn and naughty dog I have ever had. I have actually had to tell a judge that I couldn't research something because my dog ate the penal code!!! After a lot of work Bailey did a 180 and she and Cy both have been qualified with Delta Society as therapy dogs with copmlex ratings on their first times being evaluated. I could not have been prouder.

So, I got back into showing when I decided to breed Cy (he is OFA certified) so that I would be able to have one puppy out of him. I did my homework and became friends with Lori McCants at Sierra German Shepherds. The Cy and Mia litter produced five healthy puppies. Four were show quality and three were placed with wonderful homes to be companion dogs. I kept Cy's son Ulv and he has his first two points. His sister Alli was kept by Lori and has her first point. These two will be a year and a half in Janaury 2012. They are wonderful dogs with great temperments and are really shaping up to be quality show dogs. 

Recently, Lori and I were blessed to acquire Scherzar's Honeybear, a Rauschenbear x. Scherzar's Leap of Faith daughter. Autumn has been adjusting to being a house dog and is having a lot of fun learning about human beds and teasing the other three dogs.
