WORKING LINE GERMAN SHEPHERD DOGS
There are arguably only two major different types of German shepherd dogs within the recognized world breed standard:
1. The working line
2. The show line
The German Shepherd Dog is inherently a guardian dog with innate protective qualities. Working line German shepherd dogs are bred for their ability to work and perform tasks; in their breeding programme, responsible working line German shepherd dog breeders focus on producing strong and balanced working German shepherd dogs. Their main drive and primary interest is in such traits as courage, strong and big bones, hard and tough nerves, drive, intelligence, obedience and solid temperament. Sometimes large size is considered a ‘status symbol’ in this category. The choice and the selection process of breeding partners are painstaking and principally based on these aforementioned guiding considerations.
Working line German shepherd dogs are bred to have very high stress and pain tolerance levels. A police-type working German shepherd dog has to have the nerve, the guts and the stamina to do the job!! Working line German shepherd dogs are controllable but have “razor sharp” aggression with high and powerful inherent prey drive. They are trained to attack and protect; they grab with their mouth and paws to stop “a prey”.
Bite work training is an integral component of the training programme for a working German shepherd dog. The working line German shepherd dog is trained to enhance fight drive; it fights and bites without surrendering; this dog is a master of his environment-not all dogs are wired with such inherent capacity for work-only working German shepherd dog bloodlines excel and thrive in this arena!!
After agitation level one of attack/protection training, a well trained working line German shepherd dog as your guardian companion is more than a weapon!! In the line of duty this working line German shepherd dog does not retreat and is ready to put its life on the line to protect its master!!
Our primary purpose, focus and motivation at Blueline-kennels is to breed a working German shepherd dog whose ability to work and trainability is unquestionable.
At Blueline-kennels we have chosen our breeding path. Our ultimate goal is to breed, rear and train the next generation of an alpha police service working German shepherd dog.
