Until there's proof that there were not outcrosses made with other breeds, I find the sudden appearance of this 'dominant black' gene to be very suspicious, especially given the fact that the Russians were working to create their own version of the Shepherd Dog by doing just that--crossing in various Laika varieties and other breeds with the existing GSDs in their programs in an attempt to find something that would breed true. There are too many holes in the background of this female, Goya, to give me any confidence that the genetics weren't altered via addition of other breeds.

Matrix has a lovely, friendly, playful temperament. He is reasonably obedient but not highly trained. Just average. But he is a very good family pet, and he gets on very well with every person and almost every dog he has met. I would say he has average intelligence for a GSD. If he were in high school he would be. B student who was popular with the other kids and captain of the football team, well admired thanks to his great looks.

I Would love to see a photo of Caine. I believe he is from the litter that my girl is from. Your description of Caine sounds just like her temperament and attitude! She’s 13 and we no nothing about her pedigree besides parents name!
