If D.H. (the guy that replied to your question first) has an Asko puppy avaliable you should jump all over that and forget about these other pups. Asko is a living legend! He is an incredible producer. The best that is still alive today.

Sammie...Something to think about...Sometimes it's easier for a new-comer to Schutzhund to get an older dog...one that's ready to train rather then get a puppy and wait for awhile while that pup grows up...There can be so many disappointments with a puppy along the way to being a trained...titled...Schutzhund dog...There are hip/elbow questions to be answered...Questions about "Drive" for the sport also has to be looked at...so there are many things for you to consider before buying a "firt time" dog for you...for Schutzhund... ~Bob~

I like how these boards turn into sales pitches. Gotta love it! I have to agree with the Dessert Ranger's first post. No one wants something bad to happen.

I think what Sammie needs to know is that a good schutzhund prospect puppy is going to be a pain in the ass around the house for quite some time. His owner will have 100 moments of doubt, most involving the spouse, who may not be so keen on the idea. Don't buy a high drive puppy unless you know what you are doing. IMO, of course.

Sammie, Welcome to wild world of Schutzhund! Best wishes to you and good luck getting your puppy. There's been a lot of good comments on this thread. Here's another consideration... breeders love bragging rights. I'm sure that some would prefer their puppies go to experienced trainers because they are more likely to get titled. I'm not saying that's the case with this breeder, because I don't know him/her, but it's a thought. Yvette
