There are usually emergency vets available day or night in most areas to deal with a sick or deformed puppy in a humane manner. I don't see the need to try to figure out ways to euthasize a pup at home unless you are in the middle of nowhere and/or have no means of transportation to get to the vet. If you are expecting a litter and feel you might not be able to get a suffering puppy to a vet, talk to your vet telling him/her of your concerns. He might have some suggestions for you. Sometimes bitches do sense that a whelp is not going to thrive or survive.
