Thanks everyone!  Looks like I need a 4-wheeler or a horse, LOL.

Currently, we do two 3-mile walks per day (am and pm), half of which is uphill, each lasting about an hour.  I try to get some ball time in during the day, but if I don't, the GSD will usually start a game of "I've got your ball/frisbee/toy (or whatever she thinks will get the other one to chase her)" and they'll run around a bit.  Usually one morning a week, we take them to an open field for unlimited ball time...as long as they want.

I'd like to work running into the routine once a day.  They do love to run and once they figure out we're not chasing anything, they're each pretty good at keeping a steady pace.  The only problem is I can't run them together - that ends up being a contest to see who's faster....and of the three of us, it ain't me, LOL.  It's really more of a logistical issue, I guess.  There don't seem to be enough hours in the day to get everyone's workout in.  If I run them individually, that's double the time (and an extra run for me, which isn't ideal considering I'd need to cool the first one down before starting with the second, meaning I'd cool down).  Same thing if I walk them and then do my run (which seems ridiculous considering they're great runners...just not together).  I need to figure out a way to get them to run together with me.  Any suggestions?

My suggestion would be to put a leash on one/both of them until they get the idea that the goal is not competition between
the two of them, but to keep pace with you.

PS The 4 wheeler is the best present I have EVER received! I can excersise 6 dogs in around 1-2 hours, depending on if we
are doing sprints or just a steady trot :)

I do one (with three dogs instead of all four Huskies right now since one has puppies) four mile walk (typically) most every day.  Tons of steep (more like incredibly steep) hills on the walk as well.  Sometimes I'll take a couple of the dogs biking as well if time permits.  We'll go on a more flat area though for that, and I go a few miles.

Thanks!  They're leashed for the walks and anytime I run with them.  Ah, I just thought of something to try - the 'two headed' attachment for the leash - that would keep them from pulling ahead of each other, and I could just keep at it w/ regard to pacing them with me, I guess.

Any other experiences/feedback re: running with more than one dog at a time is appreciated.

I wish we had some steep hills in this part of FL. This is all so level that I do have to walk more than I would have back in PA. I normally carry a ball with me and throw that so my dog gets some extra exercise. I am lucky in that I live at a big 27 hole golf course and can use it after hours for walks and ball playing. Leash law here, but some still run their dogs behind their carts off lead, so I am careful.

Blitzen, I'm in TN,  I do know what you mean though..... When I visit friends in Indiana....it's just flat, everywhere.  I think we had gone nearly five miles at times there and none of the dogs were tired.....But here in TN...complete opposite.
