PINERIDGE

by PINERIDGE on 23 February 2005 - 19:02

Genny has been a topic of discussion at my house - (and I too missed the database -- plus I had a fight with the puppy's JOLLY BALL -- and the Jolly Ball won and my knee lost - bigtime -- but I'm walking again !! I can't help but think that she wins by the person at the end of her lead !!! He is nothing less than famous, and so it goes -- Genny is, I do not believe, as good as her father -- or others - she is not really an "all breed" dog -- and I don't think Judges who know GSD's or started in the working/herding groups are as likely to put her up as some others -- She's "okay" -- she's good for the breed when seen at places like WESTMINSTER--as there could be a lot worse representatives of our breed out there in that forum - I'm just not on the list waiting for a puppy out of her or anything. - but -- BTW -- My Karat's Ulk puppy is arriving in 20 days !! but who's counting -- Now that I'm excited about !!!

I agree that Dallas was a better dog than Genny. I too have seen far worse representatives of the breed winning. She's not a embarassment to the American style of dog as some of the past Garden winners have been. Some Am line people don't like her much, but some didn't like Dallas either, thought he was too moderate (whatever that means). Of course Moses is a factor; someone once told me he could push a dog around the ring in a wheelbarrow and win BOB LOL. If I wanted to win with an Am line, he would be at the top of my wish list for the handler. I wouldn't walk away from a nice puppy sired by Dallas, I like him a lot and I try to keep an open mind when it comes to all lines and look at the positives when I can. However, I think I'd rather have yours out of Ulk. Just seems like less of a risk to me .

Pineridge, I do not watch the show as it's not my cup of tea and am not partial to small breeds that dump on carpets:):):) Just wanted to say you will be most pleased with your new pup.... this boy (K-Ulk) produces excellent dogs!!!!! I hope to breed to him again, not me, one of my girls..LOL Good luck!!!! Michele
