Even a cursory search for details on it through Microsoft's site or Google would have returned this knowledge base article (Q221754): http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q221754 The article details how it works, why they have it, and how to configure it. If you want to disable its pretty simple: open the search paine in IE, click the 'Customize' button, click click the 'Autosearch' button and choose 'Do Not Search from the Address bar'. This will eliminate the traffic. You can confirm this by using snort or any decent personal firewall. Many people (especially newbies) find this feature very handy. Additionally, you can configure this handy feature to go to your favorite search engine. --dan heskett www.danheskett.com

????????????????????? Dan

by Danie on 28 April 2005 - 03:04

Dear Dan, You surprise me! Here was I thinking I’d able to count safely on you good sense of humour! By the way Dan, I’m thinking of trading dogs on this site (all free you know!) and wondered if you could recommend a good dummy internet snoop with a virtual PBX telephone system to vet customers emails etc. Well, at least to separate for me the informed from the more worthwhile ignorant! You agree this would be a good idea? I’d love to be able to only reply to your posts originated by you Dan but, irrespective of names used, the writing in most posts here are so identical in manner that I really can’t tell most apart! I am a silly bunny, huh? Speaking of names and in order to maintain a gainfully high profile Dan, how many aliases would you suggest – an even two dozen or so perhaps? Also, and please forgive me for asking as I’m only going by the sheer number of your long posts and time involved, but this forum satisfyingly comprises the sum total of your life? Respectfully Yours.

........lol....Smells like old times.Silly old dog

DANIE, Although your most recent post might have been meant all in good humor. I seriously would prefer you not respond to any of my postings unless it has to do with the content matter and not your consistent sarcasm. Seriously enough is enough. I obviously can't stop you from posting where/when you want but I am sure we can again all live without the sarcasm. Being funny is great but again please stick to the content matter or I respectfully request that you do not engage in any of my posts as you know the only alias I have on this site is sportstuff. Let's keep it fun but cordial. Dan sportstuff

THANK YOU ALL! As usual a vast majority of you willingly shared your knowledge me as well as probably at least a few others. Again making this site what it should be a forum for gsd enthusiasts to converse/help each other etc.. And once again the knowledge of some of the posts were unbelieveable/insightful/informative... I Sincerely thank one and all who contributed in positive way...special thanks to hodie/DOG1! Respectfully, Dan sportstuff

And spaetzle and his humor!!!!

Dear Dan, You appear to have organised this forum so well (if not practically driving much of it on your own!) that I now feel rather silly, nay superfluous, for having troubled to enter in the first place! It's remarkeable what a keen novice can achieve, eh? (By the way, your ‘sarcasm’ interpretation was misplaced but not to worry – we're all caught by our own perception of reality!) Believe me, I have no wish to be inevitably ‘lynched’ for not toeing the party line(as has befallen so many others?) by a mob of like-minded aliases/friends! (What’s worse, I’m also one of those unfortunates without pups to sell or a Kennel to promote!) Sadly, I do recall following this forum when individual, bona fide members seemed far more numerous (and it wasn't yet an orchestrated charade?): once when particular threads didn’t look as if mostly written by the same hand? It does pay to separate out the chaff I suppose! A girlfriend informs that if one hands over their password to another, the latter can proceed to henceforth run related pseudonym from their computer as if it were their own, in addition to original user. Food for thought, you’ll agree. It surely helps to explain the drastic reversal in writing style/views from that not so long ago of quite a few posters! But, I ramble! Despite the short stay, thanks for the welcome - and continued success in your endeavours. I’m sure you’ll find the VA pups of your choosing. Regards Always.

Just when I was breathing a sigh of relief.....along comes the sardonic ramblings of a well-known and hardly missed old doggie dog. Ah well, if nothing else a diversion eh Charlie? BTW Mr. Ivory- that female is available if interested.
