Sorry I didn't have the link, I just recalled the dog's name. :P I did hear that this particular dog wasn't very sound off the field, but that's just gossip from my end.

I don't have much to add other than to say that as Jeff said (yes Jeff, I am agreeing with you for once), it is most definitely NOT a GSD thing.  I have an 11 month old Mal that I am currently working who occassionally spins during bitework.  Frankly I don't care if it is a nerve issue as some ,may say or not, she is extremely high drive and will go through anything to get the bite.  She is social, calm and sweet (mostly, lol) off the field but let her see the decoy and all the calm sweet moments get thrown out the window.  Some of her spinning I'm sure is a handler problem thanks to me and a lot of it to me is frustration to get to the decoy...if that makes her a nerve bag, so be it.  I'll take my nerve bag over all of my previous GSD's who either lacked the drive or any nerve at all to do anything with.

Oops, I forgot that this board had my secrect code name.   It's Tammy from the Working Dog Forum-PSA! PSA! PSA! 

One more thing, I have a GSD that  has very, very nice drive and DEFINITE nerve issues.  Doesn't keep him from firing up and wanting to engage but he growls and sings on the bite every time...he never spins.
