It's not worth risking her life over, Lacaze. The risks of her developing a uterine infection, with or without conceiving, are just too high at this age, as is the likelihood of her needing a C-section in order to complete whelping if she escapes the infection and carries the litter to term. I would strongly suggest you have her spayed before her next cycle, so she doesn't get accidently bred, and your young male doesn't end up with an inflamed prostate from being in close proximity to a female in heat that he's not permitted to breed. What exactly are you seeing that causes you to say that she wants to be a mother? Does she experience false pregnancies? Or is she basically 'throwing herself' at your male, trying to entice him into breeding her?
If it's the former, that's all the more reason to have her spayed before her next heat, and if it's the latter, you better check on whether she's in heat right now, and plan on having her spayed as soon as she comes out of it. You'll need to wait ten to fourteen days, ideally, after she's finished her heat cycle to have the spay done, and yes, this will also remove any embryos present, but they'll still be in the earliest stages of development and be more like chicks in an egg than puppies.

I personally would never risk breeding my beloved companion at 8 years old for the first time, I would have a really hard time forgiving myself if she died just because I made a bad choice for all the wrong reasons.
She doesn't know no better, just separate her from the male for a few weeks so they don't breed.

"Dogs have friendships and mates just like all other mammals including the human species"
and have observed this first hand
"While a young or weak female can be raped or perhaps will accept any male, my experience is that those who think it is first come first serve with large strong females have not given it much real thought or lack experience. A female can be welcoming to the advances of one male when in heat while totally rejecting the attempts to mate by another male."
This person only has 1 female and one male and would not observe what we do with multiple dogs in a household. From what I understood the poster thinks their dog wants to be a mom... I guess if she "wants to" then I guess it was meant to be;) since the female must know what's right for her... Ugh!
I get what you're saying and agree, but for lack of better wording I posted what I did above as I don't think it's the safest or best thing for that female.
