In the UK is it legal to sell live snake & falcon food? I can hear the terrified screams of the guinea pig as the snake is coming for it. *ugh*
Oh believe me, I am not against hunting, just make it instant & humane. I will shoot a wild hog in a heartbeat. Wild hogs are extremely dangerous. They kill calves. They will go after pets. They will attack humans. Most hog hunting dogs wear protective vests, especially depending what their job is in the pack.
American's would never stand for it, though here is a way to attract & then kill more of those wild Boa's killing off the natural wildlife inhabitants of the Everglade's...Put out (snake proof) cages of guinea pigs, wait to hear the terrified screams, thus you know you have a snake, & then go dispatch the snake(s). No, I am not volunteering for this job. I most certainly would not want to be the repeatedly terrorized guinea pig either! But they need to do something more help to rid the Everglade's of this invasive & decimating species.

For years I have had this mantra at night of, "Go away snake," said three times. Heck, I will even say it in broad daylight if I have to walk into tall grass or brush.
You have no idea how many times at night I have stepped on a water hose & was ready to pee my pants thinking it was a snake.
We have rattlesnakes & water moccasins & the sort here. I've dealt with snakes in Afrika. But I'll tell you what, you could not pay me to live in Australia.
It is amazing how many a ranch dog can actually kill a rattlesnake & not get bit. Can't say that is 100% of the time though. :(

Whilst, I believe there is no law at present here in the UK regarding the feeding of live prey to other animals. They would most likely be protected under the Protection of Animals Act 1911 which makes it an offense to cause suffering and cruelty to an animal.
So, if the courts decided that the prey animal had suffered then you would be prosecuted under that act.
I do not buy or feed live prey, they are all frozen and purchased from a DEFRA approved supplier.
