I tried it for a while. Two of my dogs were fine with it. The third would wolf down the food so fast that he would later throw up rather large pieces of bone, some quite sharp. I started breaking the bones in the chicken wings, etc, first, but it didn't help. I quit using raw after he threw up a razor sharp pointed piece that I still don't know how it made it down and back up without slicing him up. We were lucky, and it wasn't worth chancing anything else. End of raw diet for me. That being said, it did work for 2 of my 3, and if you research, use common sense, and pay attention to what is going on, it could work. It may not work for every dog though.

interesting thread, Mr. "alphapup M.D.", where did you learn about "matabolism"? raw feeding is simply, the most natural, the problem is, it is difficult to make it balanced for the dog; unlike in the wild, where carnivores get a balanced diet, us humans usually fail to provide with a nutritious and varied supply of all esential nutrients; i feed my dogs prime kibble and occasionally give them raw cow hocks and tripe; their coats, teeth and and joints couldnt' be better. kosmas

alphadog or pup, read stephanitz's book and you'll learn how close the german shepherd dog is to the wolf. cooking bones and feeding them to dogs makes them liable to sharp edges and lacerations kosmas
