Before the spraying incident, I usually threw the training dummy a bit every night while everyone did last potty call. Then it was bedtime. I seriously went back & forth tonight whether or not to go back to our normal routine. I surprised myself at how wishy washy I was at making up my mind. Thank goodness I decided we were still going to go out tethered one at a time.
No, I do not have food stuff out the skunk would be interested in.

In defense of my dog, there is home surveillance video of this entire incident which is literally less than 3 seconds. THE DOG DID RECALL. But the skunk had already sprayed. The dog could have easily pursued & dispatched the skunk.
So much for trying to post a FUN thread here. Reread the opening sentence of my OP.

Start at 11:25 or so in the video, this is exactly what I'm looking for in a new puppy, and who will keep a solid temperament and not get soft for all of his life.

could just call it the ATS gene. gotta start somewhere. I'm pretty sure it's present in all humans.

@NatureDragon, nice little pup. Did you watch further videos of her & how she turned out as a protection dog?
@Rik, I think you you have a fabulous idea! Millions of dog owners would surely help fund such an important project. :)

no skunk involved, just well done obedience training.
i guess such level not really necessary for common dog owner. it just shows that with decent dog and willingness of handler to dedicate own time, everything can be acheived.

Maybe a gofundme for develping a skunk-colored/patterned GSD ;-)
Saw a woman walking a pet skunk and everyone crossed to the other side of the street... no idea if it was a personal protection skunk (PPS3) ;-)
