Yes, Congrats and good luck in 2009,

 But please explain what is the need to have the Dog neutered now, You still do not have to breed with him

My long hair GOran will not be bred from, but he will stay an entire Dog

Big Congrats SW!! Hope you have fun with the new pup and share some pics with us. If its not a female that you have to go thru the dreaded heats with Chaos , might as well leave him intack, at least for awhile... I think males will usually get along as long as there is no females in heat, if the new pup is a male I mean...

Thanks guys : - }  I am getting him neutered because I don't plan on using him for stud, and I do not want to intact males in my house.  I went through so many fights with my females and finally gave one of them up.  I don't want to have to go through this with my males.  Chaos is someone dog aggressive some times so I feel if I neuter him, it might calm him down some?  Opinions please and thanks : - }}}}}}}}}}

Yes, That is understandable if he lives in the House with Other Dogs and females

Mine live outside in Runs and Kennels separated so no problem as you may have or could have in the furure

Thanks Steve, that's exactly what I was thinking.  I would rather be safe than sorry for sure, with the new pup and all.

You may want to do some homework before neutering him.  A good place to start is here http://www.saveourdogs.net/health.html   . It is a common myth that neutering will reduce aggression in male dogs. Perhaps it grew out of the observation that males attracted by a female in heat often fought. But DUH think about the SITUATION.  In fact recent studies show just the opposite that you get higher levels of aggression in neutered males. There are many bad side effects from neutering depending on the age when done the worst created by very early s/n.

I'm presuming from your previous posts that you are a responsible dog owner and it is unlikely that your dog is running loose and procreating. If that is not the case why neuter him. God gave us reproductive organs for a reason and the effects they have on our bodily systems go well beyond mere reproduction. As a friend so succintly puts it "Since when does having balls constitute a disease".
