I've seen her in person (don't live far from Christy, actually). I don't doubt she's well known in show circles (I'd be surprised if she won't), but I guess when I say well known I mean the dogs that the public will recognize or remember Jimmy (or in some cases these days, Lenny) handling.

Any been around long enough to have seen Mystique? She literally took your breath away. She was campaigned so much that she never had a single litter. Most likely a big loss to the AKC GSD world. I believe she still holds the breed record for all-breed BIS wins.
