Sun, according to the kennel name this is no German bred dog - the mother had one litter in Germany, nothing else.
A lot of tell tales

I don't understand what your concern is, Susie.  Are you thinking the pedigree is a fake? Who is selling the semen?

Hmm...just realized why the name Grobartigsschaefer looks odd to me...

Normally that would be the kennel name. If you read Grob as Gross (big), then the name translates from German as "Big good/well behaved shepherd"!

A non-German speaker would read the German double 's' as a capital letterr 'B', because that's what it resembles. It sounds like someone who doesn't speak German tried to make up a German-sounding kennel name.

Hmmmmm.....yeah, maybe you're onto something, Susie!  Thumbs Up

Mith, proceed with caution! This could be a BYB trying to scam you, with semen collected from his non-pedigreed family pet!  Sad Smile

I thought the same thing, Susie. Sure doesn't jive with me, but I've learned my lesson on offering advice to certain posters.

I really don´t care, but I don´t understand why anybody on earth is interested in the semen of a totally unknown dog.
In case I´m interested in a puppy or stud, I´d take a look at the dog ( working ability, conformation, health ), but not at a strange pedigree.
Please do me a favour and check OFA for this dog ( HD/ED/kennel name ).
What does "WEST  DL910997/04" mean?
I´m not able to find any puppies out of the father (Champ) or any titles in Germany ( might be too long ago, but I doubt it ).

Following up on Sunny's note on the kennels supposedly behind this dog,

its only a side-note, but the Arolzer Haus dogs are held in reasonably

good regard in the UK, leaning towards Working rather than Showing.

I don't understand either why there would be semen available.

Also don't understand his name:  who calls a dog  'B'  anything ?

Susie, when someone puts "West" in front like that, that's a big red flag with the words "AMATEUR" waving in the wind. They mean West German, presumably...kind of like how some like, for marketing purposes, to put "DDR" in front.

I looked on AKC website... here is what I got when I typed in the AKC number for this dog. The dog on AKC is listed as a BLK/TAN and the dog pictured is a SABLE..... no info on OFA was found.

(German Shepherd Dog)

Color: Black & Red
Sex/Whelp Date: Male / MAY-31-2002
DNA Information: AKC DNA #V678290

Thank you, Jyl.
What about " OFA HD/ED good " ? Really nothing?
This dog might be real, but not its history ( bred in Germany for any rich salesman - that´s nonsense ).
Might be out of said parents, because they vanished from the German show/trial/breeding circuit, both of them may have been sold to the States.
As long as nobody met this dog in real life and is willing to talk about this dog you will not get any answers.
The ancestors ( in case they are the ancestors ) = a lot of well known West German Workinglines, some DDR, some West German Showlines, but mostly workinglines.
As long as you don´t know anybody trustworthy who met this dog during its life it´s useless to think about the ancestors - you will never know if "the King" inherited their working skills or not.

I beleive the last owner is also a businessmsn from MN; I heard that the semen is being sold  at  $ 500/ vial. Why would someone in business go to this extent ( present a dog with an untraceable history ) just to make a few bucks. I think the  guy is genuine.
