She is dog aggressive; though she respects me and has not tried anything while I am present.  I would never leave her unsupervised with another dog.  Not handler aggressive.  SV a1 normal hips and elbows.  DM carrier.  Agile and fast like a Border Collie.  No sound sensativity.

mfh27 thanks for giving more feedback on your Quardes daughter and good to hear shes fast and not fearful of any sounds and great news on xrays Quades looks like he has a current ZW rating standing at 89, the dog aggression doesnt sound too extreme I had a female close line bred on Tom once and she had extreme dog  aggression never could break her of it .

So, are we to assume Quardes is DM carrier?.

    I still can't understand why anyone would breed dogs that are carriers of DM..

For me, I don't think the other attributes outweigh this issue. So much issues over using dogs that carry for wrong coat and colors,  yet THIS seems more acceptable.    GO FIGURE!!!!

I'm seriously considering a pup out of Quardes....nice dog!

for one, DM testing in GSD's has a very strong amount of skepticism about it's validity by experts.  do you understand what they're testing for.  It's nowhere even close to being accurate like it can be in other breeds.  I'd say at this point it is practically useless, so useless that other than the need to spend money, i see zero reason to even have it performed on any GSD at this point.  Like you said, there are so many other factors to consider that will actually yield useable data in order to predict positive outcomes.

2nd, a carrier doesn't have DM, careful breeding should be able to avoid it cropping into any lines 100% of the time (considering a useful test)

The testing and DM's eitology are so poorly misunderstood at this point in time, about the only people that can gain anything by this are those selling and administering worthless tests.  Breeders certainly aren't gaining anything.

@Kitkat

nice try, maybe you should ask me!Like i do it,take the phone, call the breeder or owner and they tell.but the problem is you must first know the people.also i do not get what you talk about color or wrong coat. Have you ever talk with Nico (eiserne Kreuz) that you know what he thinks.

But only for your record. DM is not the biggest problem in GSD, Spondylose and Caudaequina  is far more the problem.many vets do not have the knowlegge and asume it is DM. With out a autopsie you do not know if the dog have  his movement problem from DM, maybe you should read about Spondylose and Caudaequina,wikipedia will help you. Hoe many dogs have get a autopsie after they have die? It is easy for a vet to jump on a train and follow the trend.

Friend of mine had one of their  GSD dogs entered in an accredited University study for DM.  He was tested for DM and was negative.  When he died he was autopsied and he did in fact have DM.

As has been mentioned, DM testing is not accurate in GSD's and they are trying to figure out why (hence the study) but they don't have any answers yet.

I did not mean to imply Quardes was the DM carrier.
