How did you get hooked on dogs, working, show, agility or whatever your addiction is........ - Page 3

I think I can only remember about a 2 week period in my life where we didn't have a dog... that was when I was about 2 years old. I was born an animal-lover. It's in my blood! Even when we lived in an apartment we still had a bunch of animals - dogs, cats, hamsters... tarantulas. I just have always known that animals are better than people, LOL.

I got *my* first dog (a black GSD... at least mostly), Dallas, when I was 10. That was a rough time for me because my parents had just had a nasty split and it was super hard for me. My dad worked a lot trying to support us, and my mom was off with her new "whatever", so I was pretty much alone... except for Dallas. She was my best friend through some tough times, and it killed me when she died. It was because of her though, that I fell in love with GSD's.

My dad and I have always shared a dream, that if we ever win the lottery or something, we want to buy a big farm and go around rescuing and rehabing dogs from shelters and finding them new homes and such. And if they can't find a new home, then they can live out their days with us. :) One day!!
