Hi Ibrahim,

My love for the G S D has kept me in the game since 1975.
I've bred a litter a year or so to maintain my G S D 's. I'm still in the red.

Top breeders in the world, breed for money,to maintain a lifestyle.
I believe very ,very few breed out of love or passion for the breed.

As those who want to play the game and want a top quality pup will ,
willingly pay the price.

so I believe the bottom line is money.

Just as mentioned by Tarekallam.

ok, heres my 2 cents worth. I compete in Schutzhund because I LOVE it! The thrill of competion with my dogs excites me. I've done it many years now. I have now begun some breeding and my goal is to do schutzhund with my own bred dogs. I look forward to making it to Nationals again with one of them. I think it would be a great accomplishment for me. Any bit of money that I have made from the few litters I've had so far has ALL gone back into them. Chain link fence around huge play yard, concrete for kennels, overhangs for kennels. Top of the line electric water buckets and then the norm of course, general upkeep, training equipment etc.
Maybe one day I'll do something in the house for myself but for now, It's all about my dogs   :-)   Oh and I cannot forget the joy I have watching newborns do nothing. I can watch them sleep, eat and snuggle and can only smile. Then they start growing and becoming their own personalities. It is so cool to see. Then the smile on the new owners face as the puppy mauls them with puppy teeth and kisses. Ok I'm done. Have a great day!

Nice thread Ibra and a lovely response from Abbi'sMom. Just to show the different objectives that we all have when breeding our dogs.
