Nope, I get a dog for life or not at all. I prefer dogs over people I would not have a problem selling few of my friends if the price is right, but my dogs hell no.

i was offered $15,000 for my dog before he even had a BH and i turned it down but i have sold other dogs. There's nothing wrong with selling dogs. Some people do it for a living. They keep a couple out of their breedings, train and sell them. I would if i had the room to raise them and the time to train them.

I take my dogs one at a time and they are mine until their last breath.  She might be a pain in the butt but we are bonded and if she can't make it because I fail her in Schutzhund then she will be my lapdog.  She has a big chunk of my heart.  She is my shadow and I don't know what I'll do that day I turn to look and she's not there.  NO.  Not that anyone would want her, but she is not for sale.

That's right. Some people do it for a living. Raise and train a dog for clients who want them that way. Adult and trained.

I would rather that someone who might not want to buy a puppy get an older pup or young adult dog with basic OB instead. At least they would be honest about their limitations.

It's too bad that it is often hard to tell between people who sell trained dogs from those who want to sell rejects. They might have gotten a puppy, failed to socialize and train it, and then want dump it on some unsuspecting party because it has aggression or health problems or whatever. Then they get another dog and the process starts all over again.

But when people come to me with a dog they want to find a home for because of issues they could have not predicted (illness, job loss, etc) I would much rather see that then having the get dog abandoned or given to just anyone.

I wouldn't sell my dog because I planned on keeping him.

Someone did offer to buy him from me though. He was driving by and it sounded like he was looking for a bait dog. (Idiot.) Pit bulls are an awful epidemic around here. You can buy them cheaply and everyone seems to have them in the poor parts of town. Pits and pit mixes are all we have in local pounds. They had bull baiting as a sport for the commoners in England. Here they use similar dogs for dog fighting. (Sad!)

Wow Steve, you are one of a kind, and I mean that in a good way.

I guess I better answer the question now that I'm here.

I wouldn't sell the ones I have unless something came up and I  had too, but if I had a dog that didn't suit me or my enviroment, yes, I'd rehome him.

Red Sable
I have had four people wanting to buy her now before she was 7 - 10 months old but i would never sell her for money,
But i do believe that she could go a long way in the Sport and i hope to go along with her but the guarantee is never sure no matter who takes her and how good they are,  For not all dogs will work for everyone i think the bond must be there between handler and dog first and foremost to get the best from both sides
Next month she goes for the BH and AD,
then we go for the real work after she has those two
