"Who needs a husband?"

LMAO!

Hi every one! I agree, who needs a husband! But my friend is 'in love' so.....her hubby does care about the dog, but right now the madman is working 3 jobs to try to lighten my friends load, so to him the dog is a low priority, he'd rather place him than work with him. So far, anyway. But my friend loves her boy, & when I see her Wednesday, I'll show her these stories & pix, & she'll show him. She just had Rottie to the vets, poor thing has an ear infection, & they found a severe heart murmer. He had it as a pup, but then out grew it, but now it's back, prolly 'cause he's over weight. So now he's on a diet, too! But they said his life expectancy is limited....so now my friend is more adament about keeping him. If he's not got a lot of time, she wants him with her, not stressed out in a new situation.
Send her some good wishes, please, that this all works out, for her & Rottie, thanks! jackie harris

Krazy Bout K9s

Just read this thread, been  there done that, except for the baby thing, Jenni, rite on, but, all I can say is
LOVE ME, LOVE MY DOG!!! HE WAS HERE FIRST!!!!

Then Jackie,
My neighbors had a Rottie, the brought with from California, he was a great protector, I wasn't afraid of him, but I didn't test him either, he HATED me and my truck, because I always walk my GSD's down my lane, past his.

So, anyhow, he was the best babysitter they ever had, he lived in the pasture, literally, with their horses, goats, chickens, and ducks, the lean-to shed was his dog house. The little kids could do anything with that 125 pound piece of dog....they would go out into the horse pasture and the dog would be right alongside them, protecting them from the horses. They owned the Rottie first the last baby came later...he was great with them. They also have a Down's syndrome girl, and he was their protector first.

I hated that dog, mostly because I have always gotten along with all types of dogs, but he hated me and my dogs. I did feel sorry for him, he finally passed away this spring, old age and couldn't get up anymore, now they have a darn pitbull!!!! BTW: I have to go into their property, I have an easement, for my irrigation water, it is always a race to see how fast they can get to my side of the pasture...lol...Steph

A friend of ours used to have a rottie - Sunny, who was incredibly territorial... would not even let you out of the car unless our friend came out and said it was OK. Somewhere she has a picture of Sunny with her newborn son lying against the dog who was licking his face. On top of the newborn, she also had two other, older kids (between 5-9 I want to say) and the dog was perfect with all of them. This dog was also the one who rescued my cat as a sickly, 7-8 week old kitten, brought her into the house, and proceeded to try and nurse her when she herself had never had puppies before.

Actually, the only dog I've ever known to nurse a kitten was Rott. Not sure if they're gentle or just dumb...Tongue Smilejoking...joking...Teeth Smile

I've never owned one, but they have to be better than husbands.

There are many techniques available to handling recalcitrant husbands, if you are experiencing problems, please seek an expert wife for advice.
