Forgot that Balo has one more FAVORITE toy. His Gunny Sac tug I made out of Coffee Sacks I bought for 2.00 a piece in town at coffee Mill.

I made 4 of them so we have a clean on for in the house or in the truck for travel.

wow Sun your dog made good work on that black kong, I thought the black Kong was supposed to be the hardest rubber of the group,my dogs love the soft pink ones but they can make short work of them if I turn my back.

xbite if you need a real test on the ball for durability,I have a few dogs that will be happy to give it a complete hard test

Lol, Yes I heard you have the real delight of the working group.
We did also, but ours are all gone

Balo is the only one to carry on the torch.
HE has already taken a half a pound of flesh daily..HE doesn't care what arm , leg or hand he takes with him and he has grips that won't be shaken for a 5 month old

I have never found many Toys the dogs we had could stand the test, so we just use Work tools for play and put them up.
I'm cutting some heavy logs on the place for Balo to get his grip on now and carry around . Sticks are useless now.
My body bears all the scars of our Tiekerhook./ Enclavehof and BuseckerSchloss mouths . Frei v d Guggi lent them his big momento on their intense abilities

Xbite, wish I had know that at the time! :(

Bundshep, I started keeping a photo diary, but I won't bore you with it. And that's the second black Kong she destroyed! A friend gave her a puppy Kong as a gift when I brought her home at 14 weeks. That was her first victim. I think it lasted until her first adult teeth began to come in. She also destroyed rugs, books, socks and dog beds. I STILL don't have a dog bed in her crate, though now it's my Czech/DDR pup that shreds the dog beds.

The latest Bad Cuz lasted less than a week before she got the squeaker out. They don't do too badly until she starts working on the squeaker hole, and tears off large chunks of rubber. When I see that happen, I start walking towards her. Before I can reach her she swallows the rubber. NEVER FAILS...EVERY TIME!!  Roll eyes  Then, of course, I take the toy away and throw it out. Thank goodness she has a cast iron gut, and has never had a problem with the stuff she swallows. Sometimes I find it in her poop, and sometimes I find it in a puddle of puke on the floor.

Sounds like Balo is liking much larger things to play with now,ya I worry what they might swallow, most toys with sqeeker sounds in them are torn apart in no time,I think some of my dogs like the challenge to see how well they can tear a toy up,I do use plastic gallon jug milk cartons they are free and I suspect when they chew on them it keeps their teeth clean, they prob also enjoy the crunching plastic sound of cartons,Sun I was wondering just how strong those black Kongs are, I got my answer form the pic you posted. I like the neon green colored softball size balls they float well and easy to see when my dogs are looking for them in a lake.

I also found that those 4 feet long plastic floats that kids use in a pool do not hold up I,ve had three dogs latch onto one the same time in the lake and three piece came back to the shore instead of the one piece.

I hate those Bad Cuz's because of the awful noise they make. One of my GSD's used to stand at the top of the basement stairs and drop one of them so they "squeaked' as they hit every step on the way down. He would do that for hours at a time. Damn, I hated those things. I'll never buy another. That dog could also stuff 4 tennis balls in his mouth at the same time and would use a frisbee as a tray where he would place 2 tennis balls and carry them around. I still miss him.

My current dog has the same stuffed pony I bought her 3+ years ago when she got her AD. She sleeps with it tucked way inside of her mouth. She has never destroyed a toy (or anything).

Ever wonder what "normal" people do for fun  Wink Smile ?

LOL! The gal in my sig had the same stuffed panda bear throughout a good part of her life. When she died at age 14 1/2, I buried it with her. I knew my next dog would probably shred it in no time flat.

We had a number of stuffed toys in the house that were for display only, and she would never touch them. One day, Roger brought her home a new panda. It took him quite awhile to convince her it was okay to play with it!

Sometimes panda would need a bath, and Roger would throw him in the washing machine. One day, I was taking clothes out of the machine, and Tasha came downstairs and gave me a look that said she clearly wanted something. I opened the door to the yard, but she didn't budge. Finally, she gave up and wandered back upstairs.

When I pulled the next batch of clothes out of the machine, I knew what it was she wanted. There was Panda Bear!

Blitzen, I think the toy makers compete to see who can come up with the most annoying squeaker! The Bad Cuz I buy has a squeak that sounds like a duck quacking, and isn't nearly as annoying as the higher pitched squeak of the smaller toys. Still, my old guy is addicted to making it squeak, and I always heave a sigh of relief when Star finally removes the squeaker!
