I understand Mendelian inheritance. This is non-Mendelian inheritance. If you don't want to browse Pubmed, this is just a basic discussion: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/05/090518111723.htm Blitzen, what discussion boards?? I am talking about actual scientific journals with peer review, etc. Like Nature, Cell, NEJM.

@ Blitzen, that is non existing, just to show tha crappy bitches will not produce quality bred to top males, they need more than that to make up for their shortcomings Wink Smile   generaly speaking

Mendel worked with peas and phenotypic traits primarily.  When they started doing genetic modifications they relied on Mendelian theories and they failed in many cases as they could exactly identify the gene and where it was present if it was tagged (and most are).  That's the reason that GMO foods are so dangerous .. if we do enough substitutions and add enough foreign DNA to our food supply simple statistics tells us that we are going too fast without sufficient testing and that we will eventually create a mess with GMO plants and animals.  Nature modified her genes through somewhat random mutations over millions of years and then we humans and other animals tested these modifications in small areas around which the modification occurred.  Now a company puts a new gene into a major food crop and within 10 years everyone on the planet is exposed .. what could go wrong???  Once a inserted gene jumps to a new species or subspecies it is impossible almost to contain it and if it mutates then all bets are off and mankind will be left holding the bag for Monsanto and the other gene merchants.  One of the reasons the EU does not favor GMO crops is that early testing with GMO traits was not predictive (unexpected things happened) according to Mendelian genetics.

John: I like the mamma side of the pedigree as I am familar with many of the dogs in the 3r
d back.....Lasso de sole, Wildsteigerland, and back to Berndt, Wilda, and Wilma and many more
Mark von  Haus Beck, Odin, Frenze,  and Fara, and Gerti and of course Weithurchen, which my foundation bitch came directly from along with the entrance to the BusceckerSchloss power lines

Anja  Reststrauch, and so many good dominoes which have laid the forward genes to date..Yes,the ages of years back do enfluence what is produced today.

John, Would this question have perhaps been more helpful to you before using 'his services' rather than afterwards?
