Hexe, You have a point in what you are saying. But the below facts should clear your doubt. 1.The bitch was bred in three continous cycles- that is without missing a heat.In the first two litters she gave 9 pups each time all healthy and all alive today. 2. In the third litter she was probably quite stressed out and so 7 pups were lost. 3. This litter is planned after she missed the last heat. 4.I have advised the owner to have this bitch and her pups nursed for one week after she whelps next time. The nurse should ensure that all pups get a share of the mothers milk and this should be done by careful observation and rotation of pups. 5 I am sure if this is done no spaying etc will be needed- friends this is a happy healthy and top winning bitch that we are talking about- she has produced close to 6 champions- so for all the advise in the world I will not advise the owner with any drastic measure. 6 LIFE IS ALL ABOUT LEARNING. SOMETIMES EVEN OUR DOGS WILL TEACH US. WE NEED PATIENCE AND WE NEED TO OBSERVE.

Poor girl is expected to work rather hard... she is not a puppy making machine! I seem to remember a discussion about back-to-back breedings some time ago. It is not allowed in the UK, one of the few controls our KC does require. "she has produced close to 6 champions" "LIFE IS ALL ABOUT LEARNING. SOMETIMES EVEN OUR DOGS WILL TEACH US. WE NEED PATIENCE AND WE NEED TO OBSERVE." Maybe she is trying to tell you something!!
