On second thought, as much as I would love to have a serious discussion with fellow showline people without the thread being interrupted,  I wouldn't like the idea of having to choose a working form over a show form. IMO both are important to the future of the breed and one isn't mutually exclusive of the other.  We have a conformation form, maybe we should continue to use that forum and hope that the working faction here respects our right to have our own discussions about our own dogs and they should receive the same consideration on the working forum. I don't remember ever seeing a showline member ever interrupting a working dog discussion, why do SOME workingline members have to do that? To constatnly remind us of the weaknesses of the showlines?

Blitzen I Knew the original Topic and Title.  I watched you delete your comments for your own reasons.

I know that GSD  Made a New Title

My comment Was to you because you were the first to want the separate forums.  Then I pointed out a couple of reasons that I did not think it would work for others  who may say yes as a knee jerk response without thinking it through just a little.

Comments in general:

We have some members who like (love) to play devils advocate, pull others chains and yes sometimes get rude and disrespectful

We have a few member that constantly complain about what others say and it seems for no good reason, I haven't decided if they are complaining because they want to control everything, want attention or have super soft feelings or all of the above.

Don't like the way a thread is going don't read it, don't like what someone says don't read or respond to it. It is so hard to keep a conversation going if there is only one talking.  A comment that someone writes if you don't like it, have the strength to ignore it.

When I first came to this forum  (2002) it had many people who would fight  I just scrolled down past the mud and read posts from those who had good information and just ignored the ones who fight. When it was nothing but those posters who were fighting I did not read that thread anymore nor did the others who wanted information, thread would die no one comments no one to fight with,  boring talking to yourself.

Don't like someone here, see someone who usually posts off topic,  don't  read that persons posts. Show the strength to be above them, ignore them.

I asked for a separate form? I plan to do exactly  as you have suggested.

That answer is why there are problems  I said GSD  sugessted and YOU Said Yes to the idea  I DID NOT SAY YOU ASKED FOR SEPARATE

I hope my idea works for you and the others.

this chat room works best when it helps beginners with basic information. It works well as a sounding board for problems and issues. It is a good place to promote events for the GSD world and all dogs. . It is a poor place to brag about oneself, one's dogs, or one's accomplishments. Personel attacks are a waste of time and typing. Filter all remarks with what is best for the breed.

What would really work best, oh, but if only....is IF some of the people would just show some consideration for others.

What a boring, miseable existence our lives would be if everyone got up every morning, drank the same coffees,  wore the same clothes and had the same thoughts.

Variety is the spice of life!

Some of the people jyst have the need to go one step further. Can't just have a difference of opinion, they feel the need to be rude, and belittle other people and their dogs.

Of course we are all here sharing one thing in common, the German Shepherd dog. I for one would love to see the breed unified as one line. I know that is not likely to happen.

There are no 'know-it-alls' in the breed although some sure do act as if they do.

I have checked out so many different forums, and the idiotic things people cite as fact is unbelievable.

And yeah, I have so much more to learn, thats why I come here. I too, don't agree with everyone, but, as I said, what a boring world it would be if we all shared the same views.

The German Shepherd does have a standard, and anyone that breeds german shepherds really is obligated to follow that standard.

But what is acceptable work ethic to one, does not have to be the same for all.
