Upsman-- I did have a dog die in my arms. He was my childhood buddy. No prior symptoms. He was lying next to me and then stood up, stumbling as he tried to walk. I dove to the floor and while holding him, he stiffened and then went limp. It was only a minute, and he was gone. The shock and horror is unbearable--the loss, your's alone. I was 18 yrs old at the time, and my boy was 14. The 3 years you had with Mars in comparison to my 14 years doesn't seem very fair--you should have had many more years with your best friend. Sometimes, life really sucks. I hope you're capable of getting another pup---putting your love into another dog is the only remedy for the pain. Whether it takes a couple of months or a couple of years, it's never easy starting a new relationship. Happiness will only come again, if you can forge ahead. Forget the breeder. I doubt she even had a clue what the genetics even were in the dogs she sold. Recognition of name,...maybe; but genes,...highly unlikely. Preston and Olga Ashley's posts should be read carefully. I've always been aware or highly suspicious. Picking any breeder is hard, but most of them do their best. Anything in life is a chance. I hope the odds are more favorable for you next time---You're just too caring a dog owner for the GSD breed to lose. Really sorry for your loss, L.

I bougt a couple of German Shepherd adult dogs six months ago from Melissa Kolby and her partner. When dogs got sick, they promised to pay for the vet bills or exchange for another dogs, but that never happened. I was not able to resolve this issue and I feel that I have been lied to. If you would like to know more about my experience with these people you can ask me questions. Don't buy dogs from this kennel!

As I read this I thought for a horrific minute you were talking about a Human child by the way you referred to it as your child, baby etc. I sympathise with you but you might have referred to it as a dog. So get a grip for goodness sake.

Hey Ass why don't you get a grip... on your own throat preferably. This poor fellow lost his most beloved pet. Try some sympathy huh? If you read the full post it was obvious what he was reffering to. I for one, prefer my dogs over real kids any day. They don't beg for money and new clothes or complain when I don't have as much time as I would wish to spend with them. In such an uncompasionate world, we all need the unconditional love of our GSD's. My dogs are who I turn to for understanding and love when the poeple in my life, just don't get it. Now we have a poor owner that needs someone to lean on and doesn't have his best friend/fur baby to comfort him. YOu couldn't have named yourself better Ass in hola!

I bought a sheperd from Melissa Kolbe in December 2002 for a Christmas present for my son. He died 7 months later. Never a refund, couldn't reach her. He also had a testical that never decended. I spent show quality money on this dog. His father was supposedly Yasko and the mother was Fabienne Vom Quartier Latin. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS LADY!!!!!!

I bought a Yasko and Fabienne Vom Quartier Latin pup from Melissa Kolbe in December of 2002 for my son for Christmas. 7 months later the dog died. I had an autopsy done for toxins etc. Nothing that the vet could find. Melissa also sent the dog to me with only one decended testicle. No refund No replacement. When the dog died, I couldn't get a response. DO NOT BUY A DOG FROM THIS LADY...!!!!

I am not trying to bash breeders as whole,I guess there are alot of good ones.I had no idea ms.kolbe had such a bad name until I began to search for a way to contact her.All phone numbers I had for her were disconnected,so I did a google search using her name and it brought me to this site.I was not trying to blame her for his death(at first),I wanted simply to express to her the chance that the M litter from dam Isis vom quartier latin and sire Tasso vom winnloh may have heart problems.I did not want anyone else who may have bought one of his littermates to experience the same heartbreak I feel.I thought maybe she could contact other owners of these gsd and have them checked for potential problems,If there is a chance that I can save one of these pups from potential death then its all been worth while.Originally I wanted no compensation for his death, but after reading how many people have been affected by this women I will not rest until I run her outta business.
