Hey Tiago how you doing my friend is your young female also in KNPV like to ser one time?
Tiago is right decoy have to test the dogs well and ( honestly)and not worried about themself they have to
take every spot on the arm or leg.The stick attack is the most important exercise about courage.
Tiago dogs who ready for the trial they sure know what is the right spot on the arm biceps, sometimes
handlers correct this with plastic caps on the under arm, but what I see in must cases dogs dodging
the upper arm because they faced with the whole body to use. and if the decoy block the dog very
well this has much more impact than the low hitting dogs because this dog only use a small part
of their top body. Also if the dog attacks only the underarm the arm moves along there is no block.
hard hitting dogs who hit high and good on the spot have more courage, have seen many times the dog
total missing the arm because hitting bite only air.( also personal experience as decoy)
This are 2 examples 2 dogs where it goes wrong because they hit not right and no good grip

Have seen this dogs missing on different decoys.because this dogs are not very sure about themself IMO
This is a perfect picture from a good hit seeing this dog using his whole body.confrontate the helper

Nice shot Joan
This is a KNPV suit hard thick leather and jute t this is much harder and heavier than the ringsport suit
ringsport suit is softer material and easier to bite and make grip
Leg protrectors under

About KNPV and training and explain exercises training it is better to discuss this for me in real life and real training
my english is not the best and I don,t like to get errors or misunderstanding with people who have never
trained or have experience with this, visit some clubs, talk with handlers it makes it more clear
@ VK it have nothing to do with IPO or KNPV its about the quality from individual dog some have it
some not some can do only IPO some can do both., I don,t wanna make a contest IPO vs KNPV
different training and different goals both have the superstar dogs and the lesser heroes.also handlers

@ Susie the stick attack is always on the left biceps(except the leg attack) because most decoys are right handed
to hit the dogs, leg attack can be right and left. Shot gun attack can be left as right when the dog hit from behind

A good dog is a good dog, whether it comes from SchH or KNPV.
What people must keep in mind is that in KNPV, trainers don't spend much time "fixing" issues. They train and dog and expect it to show it's true colors... This is extremely valuable when it comes to breeding selection, since there isnt that much training masking weakness.
KNPV requires strong drives, good aggression and possessiveness... these traits are present in a good KNPV dog and selection program. All my dogs come from KNPV backgrounds - in the last two or three generations - but I do not close the door to a strong IPO dog...
I've been lucky enough to know where to find STRONG GSD's.

I DON'T wish the US would start a KNPV program, US tends to water down things ;-)
