Personally I don't order tracking lines from Leerburg or anyone else. Go to any outdoor store that offers climbing gear like REI. You can buy any length any width any color of nylon line, even round lines or flat lines, whatever floats your boat. Then go to a hardware store and buy a clip. Then go to your neighborhood shoe store and have them sew the clip into one end of the line, and burn the other end so it doesn't unravel.
I like to train with plow lines so I always have a couple that are 20 foot each. Of course I also have one that's 10 meters plus a little longer. I don't like handles in my tracking lines. I do like a knot at the 10 meter mark. I also have a 10 meter leather tracking line but I never use it, it's just not practical.
MUCH less expensive, no shipping charges, custom made to your own specifications exactly how you like it.......Voila.

Twenty years ago, I got busted by Carol Patterson for working on a "short line" with just such a tracking leash. Had a knot at the 10 meter mark but she busted me 5 pts. at the start and each restart from the articles for "Not being at the end of my line". For me, it's all about the rolled leather, even have 2 backups.

Thanks Duderino, once more you help me with your experience, and I really appreciate it. My knot is near the end, it's to keep the line from running all the way through my hand, but just because I haven't gotten "busted" for it, doesn't mean I won't, it only means that up to this point I've been "better lucky than good", so I'm moving it all the way to the end as we speak.

@ Sue, by the time i did all that traveling around i could of ordered them and they would already be here.lol
And yes they can and will measure tracking lines. Not so much at a club level but at a higher level its pretty much a givin.

Thanks Faq2, but what Duderino clarified for me was that the rules state the handler must hold the line at the end of the line even if the line is over 10 meters long, not hold the line at a 10 meter mark.
As far as all that traveling around, I guess I forget not everybody lives where there are stores that have outdoor climbing gear, hardware stores and shoe stores all within a few miles. I can get a line put together in a couple hours. I guess there are some advantages to living near or in the big city!!!!!!
