Longstreet was played by James Franciscis. He was a Pvt eye I think who became blinded, and his seeing eye dog was a WGSD named Pax... he was also protection trained ETC. Had some good action with the dog being pivotal to the plot. Same with Bionic Woman, Max was a GSD who had gotten bionic implants (his jaw for one) He went nuts every once in a while and went on attack. The big wigs thought he was having a reaction to the implants. Jamie rescued him and found out that he was having a reaction to fire, as he'd been trapped in a lab fire. The episode I remember was when he jumped out of Jamie's car and rescued a baby left in a VW Bug by running it down and grabbing it by the bumper as it rolled down hill... Pretty cool... LMAO...

Billy Jack was filmed right here in Arizona. The scenes in the Court House Square in downtown Prescott, also , they hired many of the local police agencies to do the final ending shot. Billy Jack needed a good GSD to go along with his character, he didn't need anything, he had " green feet".

I found the you tube for Grizzly Adams, my favorite part was the song. Okay his sidekick was not a dog....but he had a bear.....what can one say to a guy with a bear..??

Dog was the name of the John Wayne's collie in Big Jake...Look closely...Dog was played by Lassie (one of the many) with stage make up!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane...I LOVED Billy Jack and all of his movies. I think it was the actor though not the message behind the movies. What was his name...Kyle or Lyle McLaughlin? He sure could kick butt!

I did NOT know that was Lassie in Big Jake, I am a Wayne fan. I also loved his movie "The Cowboys" and " The Shootist. Thanks for the confirm on Dogs name, Dog.
Tom Laughlin, that is also his real wife. I think he also has his daughter play in this movie. The icecream parlor in the movie is still an ice cream parlor just off of Wiskey Row, there at the square.

Man, I remeber almost all those movies/shows. Just the other week on another thread I was talking about the movie "The Doberman Gang" and where to find it? Couple others; Was it Schultz (I know nothingggg!) in "Hogans' Heroes" that had the GSD? I could be wrong though. And the name is foggy but Charlton Heston had a GSD he saved/won in a poker game? Movie in Alska, all I can think of is "Call of the Wild"? Think there was a couple of the movies???
