I do belong to a club and that's pretty much the way we do it there too when we start out our pups. Yogi. Normally the dogs are fairly well under control of their handlers by the time they start working with the helpers/decoys. The goal at our club is IPO titling.
I don't now of any respected PP et al trainers in the Tampa area. There is one out the road who makes a big display of setting up the training field with equipment, but no one has ever heard of him or his dogs and he allows no spectators at his training session unless you buy one of his dogs or use one for breeding .

Most sport dogs come for the sleeve , I like to see a dog is coming for the man not the equipment
with AGRESSION most helpers don,t like this kind of dogs today. A good helper can work with both
type of dogs .. will not say a real agressive dog is not clear headed but this type of dogs are more serious
in their work.

You live in the Tampa area and don't know of a good PP trainer? Geez have you not heard of Ivan? I don't believe his main focus is PP work, but the man is certainly capable of training such dog. He is an excellent trainer.

Can be very usefull tool for most sportdogs today Yogi agree a hidden sleeve but a dog is very smart because they can smell the hidden sleeve after 1 or 2 session same as they can smell a suit or ipo sleeve.

Yes I know who Ivan is, hn, he's was at one of our trials a few years ago. I didn't realize he had training sessions at his field where he allowed the general public to watch. I was to a seminar there a few years ago just after I moved to FL.
I also understood that vk's clip wasn't meant to show OB, My question was - how do handlers control dogs when they get into the zone or can't they? At what point does the dog take over and do it his or her way?
