The story began on Croatian island Cres....
...when in early 90-ies we spent vacations in a camp, where we saw three beautiful berners, making my mouth’s watering for them. At first I was curious, later these dogs astonished me and life-long love was born. Our “star shine” Astra von Reichenbrunnen came into our family from Switzerland in May 1994. From than on life of my family was entirely connected with this breed. What can be more beautiful than a bernese mountain dog? Two berners, of course! And then came the third one…
We love to return to Switzerland: we have relatives and close friends there, we like to visit dog shows, friendly meetings and also we went there to find a male for our Astra. He was marvelous! Astra had two litters and this experience was a gift. Luckily our puppies got nice owners who became the solid ground of Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Slovenia, founded in year 2000. As a first president of the club I’m very proud of our high breeding standards and their encouraging results.
Having a happy berner means to change the way of life and gain a lot of like-minded new friends. Having a happy berner means to read pure love in his dark eyes and look the other way when the chewed telephone is in question… Having a happy berner means you’re a lucky person!
