Noticed Kintzel's name. No, Kintzel does not use show line dogs. On the other hand, he has some of the show line dogs mixed in in his dogs. You can see him on his site www.sheep-herding.com Ulf

Hello Ulf, nice to see you have joined in on the herding conversation, when is your next trial going to be???I missed the one in Oct...but would like to come up and visit and learn. Heather

by Ulf Kintzel on 08 January 2005 - 19:01

Our next trial is going to be on September 17 judged by Hans Chifflard. That is our tenth anniversary trial since we started in September 1995 with HGH training in the US. Our annual trial will be on October 8 followed by a breed survey on October 9, both judged by Wilfried Scheld. Updates are always on my website at www.sheep-herding.com. We also have a e-mailing list. Anyone can request to be on it. E-mail me directly at sheep-herding@earthlink.net. People on that e-mail list will be updated about our activities such as trials. Ulf

Hello Sunshine, Just wanted to let you know that we will be having another herding clinic in Tx in Feb. email me and I will send you the information. Just had one in Dec. and had the best time, really moved my dog up quite a bit...she is now tending 20 sheep and keeps her borders, she is young so we didn't do to much more with her, but I think I am going to start another older female at this next clinic. Eaven thogh I¿ve been registered on this site for a long time I heve¿nt meda any posts for quite some time, due to moving and embarking on yet another universityeducation. I don¿t know if the mail that i gave when inlisting still works as it should but I¿ll see to this when I¿ve got the time. Im glad that you found this experience so possitive. I have a keen interrest in the use of german shepherds as herding dogs. Unfourtiounaly there is noone in scandinavia that has can test or teach this. In fact noone has got any experience of it at all,to my knollige. Does any of you have experiences that could be useful in learning to use german shepherds as hearding dogs, or know of any good books on the subject? If you do colud you please post this on the messageboard.
