My step daughter ( who is like my own) has been
living in Japan teaching English for the last 3yrs, her
power & internet came back on this morning & she was
able to call thru her computer, she was ok.  She is located
in Aomori City, but I did just get an email from her thats not so
good..    "70% chance of a 7 magnitude aftershock in the next 4 days. predicted to hit my area harder than the first.
food and gas are being rationed.
hope to god the rokkasho nuclear plant holds up"
So I'm praying for her ...........

"The Pentagon was expected to announce that the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan, which is sailing in the Pacific, passed through a radioactive cloud from stricken nuclear reactors in Japan, causing crew members on deck to receive a month’s worth of radiation in about an hour, government officials said Sunday."

"TOKYO, March 14 (Reuters) - U.S. warships and planes helping Japan's earthquake and tsunami relief efforts have moved away from the country's Pacific coast temporarily because of low-level radiation from a stricken nuclear power plant, the U.S. Navy said on Monday. The U.S. Seventh Fleet, in a statement, described the move as precautionary measure."
