I have three trainers that I work with and I love all three of them. Owners must be involved and participate and become comfortable with your trainers, If you are not then grab your dog and get out.

Stumpy..I totally agree with you and wonder why people get a workingdog if the send it to other people for training? Should they not get another breed then? Or take class together with the dog and thereby build a strong connection with their dog.
Is just to easy to put the dog to other people, pay and make them train the dog....Its not a car who are being pumped up. what will the owner with a working result the have not done themself?

ask the hundreds of Americans who send their dogs to trainers for work as well as showing.

Well for me the reason is time, location, absolutely no trainers within 900 miles or dogs raedily available for schutzund for that matter. i live in a population of 60,000 people on an island. You get it/ I'm sure those are some the reasons for some people in America as well.
