Anthena will do well for you I'm sure. I know the dam line personally. I've have met Angie and Bronko and they are GREAT dogs. THey have produced well and their progeny excell in Schutzhund. Don't know much about the sire line though. Good luck! Debby

Jetta's sire has his picture taken in front of a schutzhund blind so he MAY have some training. They MAY know his working qualities so you should contact his owner and find out. He may also know the working qualities of Jetta's dam as well. The sire's bloodline is very good German working lines. Close up they are not showing titles on the database but that does not mean they are no good. YOU NEED TO RESEARCH THIS FURTHER. Your dogs sire is mentioned here, http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/bulletins_read/63278.html as well as the email to his owner, weberhausgsd@hotmail.com Jetta's dam is German showlines. The dam is actually linebred 3-3 on VA1 (USA) Jello von der Wienerau. I do not know anything about this dog. It does indicate some planning probably went into breeding Jetta's dam. I do know that Wilhendorf bred to this male (Jello) many times. You have two different Wilhendorf dogs in the dams pedigree, both out of Jello. Echenluft has spoken very highly of Wilhendorf kennels in this post. You may want to contact Wilhendorf kennels to learn more about these dogs. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/bulletins_read/14524.html#15546 I think it is hard to say if this bitch should be bred or not based on her pedigree alone. This is actually the case with any bitch though. Her lines show good hip production and her low price may or may not be sign of her quality. Really you will only know her quality as a producer by breeding her. Many will say do not breed her, she is not titled and neither are her sire and dam. Many titled dogs are bred that should not be bred so that does not always mean anything. JUST KEEP RESEARCHING AND DO NOT LET A FEW PEOPLE TALK YOU OUT OF BREEDING HER BASED ON A QUICK GLANCE AT HER PEDIGREE. RESEARCH IT BETTER YOURSELF. I believe if the dogs close up are good working dogs and she herself is a good stable bitch, then you could see what she is capable of producing. If I were to breed a bitch with this pedigree, I would linebreed to a proven working line producer on her sire's side. Take care, Robin

Obviously Klatolklin, you do not care to adhere to the breeding guidlines set forth by the SV.

Thank you Funk man...couldn't have said it better myself. This is why there are FEW breeders and MANY producers!!!! So many with a lack of knowledge. Seems no one really cares.....just Oh sure...breed it. ""Don't let some people talk you out of it."" And throw in a blue while you're at it.... What's next...? Sheperdoodle or something similar?!?!

Klatolkin: these notable dogs you speak of are 3 or more generations back...c'mon the "quality" of the pedigree is diluted with two generations of untitled dogs (except for Uwe). Not exactly what I'd call breed worthy IMO. Tari Jolin: your pup is beautiful and has a great pedigree good luck with her. If you are interesed in producing SchH prospects title the pup and wait to breed her. Enjoy the adult female as a pet.

My stud dog, Axel has a dam and grand dam that are not titled. Oddly Axel is titled to SchH3, AD and has three littermates working as police service dogs. I have no idea how that happened with his diluted lines. LOL... If I held the standard that many hold and the SV holds, then I would be going downhill. My standards far exceed the SV minimums. Below are the titled dogs in my breeding program. This only tells a portion as their true value is in their work. Robin Axel vom Rolling Acres SchH3, AD, OFA-Good Axel's sire is SCH3, DPO II, WPO, PSP-1, CERT. NARC., POLICE DOG until 10 yrs old, Cejlon z Hundorfu. NO BREED SURVEY BUT REPRESENTED THE USA AT THE POLICE DOGS CHAMPIONSHIP IN GERMANY. NOT UP TO THE SV STANDARD REMEMBER, NO BREED SURVEY. Gery von der Vinessa SchH3, KKL2, OFA Dam placed 3rd WUSV worlds, sire competed in FCI worlds. Velmi Dobry - Inka Anrebri - ZVV1 0/0 Hips Velmi Dobry - Indi Naspo - SVV1 5JU1/N 0/0 Velmi Dobry - Norma Stara Basta - SVV1 5V5/54 0/0 SG-Britta v.d. Ellerbachbrucke - SCHH3 (287V) KKL-1a Multiple certified police progeny. G-Kosta von Karthago - SCHH1 KKL-2a Littermate to 2x BSP participant.

Klatolkin, theres a big difference between just a dam and grand dam being untitled and nearly the entire first three generations of a pedigree. Titling the above female may be possible, but its a shot in the dark at best with regards to what the pedigree has to say. Congrats on your dog Axel he certainly has proven his working abilities, his father has a nice resume as well. Im not a stickler for the conformation stuff, a strong working dog my cup of tea. You have a nice bunch of dogs in you breeding program, not shabby by any means. Robin-My question for you is would you purchase the above mentioned female to include in your breeding program...If not give an honest answer to the person inquiring about their dog. I wish clued me in when I bought my first 2 GSD's, that is why I think its important for people to be honest and not sugar coat their replies because they don't want to hurt feelings.

by Klatolklin on 16 November 2006 - 01:11

GSDfan, I would not purchase Jetta based on a QUICK look at her pedigree. If I saw her work and was impressed with her, I would throughly reseach her pedigree and see if it was something I wanted to add to my breeding program. It is highly unlikely that I would add her to my program though. Not to say that it would never happen and that is why I say for the owner to research it further. When someone thinks about breeding a dog, they need to learn all they can about it and I want her to continue to seek answers. Many wrote the bitch off which is their right to do but the owner has to make a choice by learning all about the pedigree. I think she should continue to look for answers and speak to people that know the up close dogs before making a decision. I am not telling her to breed the bitch or to not breed the bitch at this point. She could find out the sire is a police dog or produces police dogs. The dam may be a SAR dog. When more is known about the dogs close up, then she can make an informed decision. Robin
