Would like to say ,though you may feel the GSD was bred to be a 98 lb dog, it also was bred as a tall ,lanky dog,and should it had stayed as such it would not indeed be a popular as it is today. They they began to work in the nasty sloap in the breed and not it walks on its calves not its feet. Not to say most are still beautiful ,but they have in show at least become smaller looking and I would never want a dog whose problem with it's hips derive from breeding to make it walk incorrectly just for a look. I have raised the Gsd for well over 20 + years ,and been around the show rings ,but the AKC has lead to problems in the breed, that have led to others haveing to re-establish the newer versions of the breed. Shelly Hate to burst the bubble,BUT there are Blue,Liver and even Panda Shepherds . And they are not very good looking, but I must say they keep to the smaller standard of the AKC form of the GSD . Bear Woman

Terry, Lets be honest. Your male Aiko was under 5 pounds when you got him at 8 weeks old. According to the ISSR standards, Shiloh male pups should be around 18 pounds at 8 weeks? Many people know about how sickly that litter was, and how grossly underweight they were. As for the conditions at that kennle, lets be real, there are enough people that have left that kennel in horror that can dispute what you are saying and back it with pictures. Tieger

AS an owner of a GSD I think a lot of GSD people should be up in arms. The OFA web site shows a higher percentage of hip dysplasia in the Shilohs vs the GSD. Further, according to the breed founders own web site she claims that during a recent health survey there is a 13.6% hip dysplsia. The numbers change every day. Take into account that she reads most of the x-rays, that is the ones that even get x-rayed, and she will easily give a dysplastic dog an "SP" still permissable rating if she wants the dog to get bred. As a GSD owner and lover I would highly recommend an outcry from you folks to the www.Thedogpress.com They have printed this bogus article written by a Tina Barber, Shiloh breed founder called LMI/LMX claiming how she has only a 3% incidence of hip dysplsia and hwo the poor GSD's are so bad. I also have a friend that has Shilohs and they told me that they wrote to the dog press stating that article is bogus and offered proof. Her claims are all smoke and mirrors. I recently saw what is called a detailed pedigree on a particular pairing. It claims there were 3 litters, 20 pups. It also claims there were 16 passing hips and 0 dysplastic. On her own web site she claims there were 3 litters 23 pups. Also, I know of at least 3 of that pairing that were dysplastic, and those results were sent to the ISSR. Somehow those three dysplastic dogs were ommitted form the data base once again giving a false report. I have checked out the OFA site on Shilohs, it seems there are a few people really getting their dogs certified, but it seems these people those called "splinters" At least some of them are using accredited organizations to qualify their dogs for breeding, not some breeder not certified to read x-rays. King shepherds are registered with ARBA, as a breed, or so i belive. ARBA = American Rare Breed Assoc. There are tons of ancient dog breeds that are lovely and deserve a chance to show and be seen. I think even the Panda Shepherd are part of ARBA or they are being considered The majority of spilnter shiloh groups are EXTREMELY strict with breeding, and some people are so tight with helath testing that they might shun you for not doing just about every health test on your dogs lol =] (good thing in my opinion). OFA etc. My dogs have had hips, elbows, thyroid, and tons of other things tested to be sure that they are healthy representations of thier breed. These splinter groups as you call them are doing thier best for the betterment of this wonderful breed. If you want to know anything else about these dogs check out the ISSDC or the NSBR, TSSR groups or join some of the yahoo groups devoted to these wonderful dogs. They are truely amazing creatures. Every shiloh I have met, I have loved. Try to remember all breeds started somewhere, GSDs, Goldens, Labs, these breeds just didnt pop out of the gorund. This was not meant to offend anyone at all, so plese be kind as I feel I have been kind to you.

SNIP: This type of "Shepherd" is also know as the "Shiloh Shepherd" The King and Shiloh are 2 distinctive different breeds. The King does have Shiloh as part of it's background, but is not a Shiloh

Based on the SV???? What a major lie!! Funny, though, truly funny as nothing that unwieldy could ever work. I know a woman who started in schuthund with 2 Shiloh and one King mutt. She could not even put Bhs on them.

Tina, why do you fight these "splinter" groups when they supposedly are doing more to better the Shiloh shepherd's health than you are? Is it the money??? Is it ego???? If you cared about this dog you created, it seems you would let these other groups take up the reigns or make peace with them.
