I can't imagine why a person wouldn't TRY raw for a month...hell, just feed chicken backs for a month and then get some variety in later down the line. It will hardly cost you anything to experiment--a ridiculously small amount in comparison to all these vet reports. I kick myself now when I look back at my original GSD who died of kidney failure, no doubt from cheap-o kibble, and my catahoula, who was always barfing bloody bits in bile. I feel really bad for not figuring it out in time for them. I don't think you should just drop everything and hop on the raw bandwagon, but jeeze, an experiment sure wouldn't hurt anything, and it would give you a heck of a lot of data.
