4 Pack, not that I CAN'T, I just WON'T. Besides, my kids have to eat too! (LOL)
Winnie,
You are saying exactly what I need to hear. I want exactly what you speak of. I am not worried about "prey drive" for Schutzhund. The club I used to go to is no longer worth going to so the "protection" work will be real world stuff. I think the most important trait is obedience as well, often overlooked but the most often used training in the real world where my dog and I will live and play. Can't remember the last time my dog "tracked" my keys down for me or did a back transport with the meter man. But he does need to come when called, and I would prefer he walk with me without a leash, stay when and where I tell him etc. DDR is said to have great focus in the obedience without being crazy, thats what my wife and I are after. Thanks
I own a 75% DDR female and she is outstanding. Most males have nothing on her. Best of all, even though her prey and food drives are extreme she can turn it off while not working. I trust her with any child no matter the age. Has nerves of steel. Excellent tracking dog.
As for me you can tell I love DDR dogs plus have been around several Czech dogs and they are they same way.
Nice blocky heads and big boned.
Since some of us speak so highly about our WONDERFUL DDR/DDR & Mix dogs (in my case my DDR and Czech puppy) why don't we sing the praises of the breeders who produced them...I will say it loud and proud, CHIP WEISS OF CIMMERIAN GERMAN SHEPHERDS of Frankenmuth, Michigan! Sadly it has become a habit of OCCASIONALLY putting down kennels, why don't we give the breeders who gave us our best friend some much deserved credit, I just did, and I'll do Chip one more, I'll include the link to his website: http://cimmeriangermanshepherds.com THANK YOU CHIP IF YOU EVER VIEW THIS SITE!

Spartanville Shepherds is also highly reccomended. I have yet to purchase a puppy, but they have always been SUPER nice and accomodating! www.spartanville.com
Vom Banach K9 also a good kennel to consider, great DDR and Czech lines and awsome dogs. The Vom Banach bitch line up is really nice and they have a new stud V. Jim vom Dollnitztal SchH3, V-rated, H/D a Normal, he is a Don V. Clausburg SchH3, FH2, IPO3, son. www.vombanachk9.homestead.com

I have seen a few of their dogs and they were outstanding!
http://www.vandenheuvelk9.com/congo.html also has outstanding dogs.
Bill Jenkins of Texomaland K-9, Lawton Oklahoma is where I got my wonderful boy. His link is www.texomalandk-9.com. He doesn't breed too much, more importing and personalized training of GSDs, Mals, and Dutchies. Great idea Krista.
Sorry the link is www.texomak-9.com
Flipfinish~I have no idea with all the *call names* out there who you are, but thank you for your very nice comments.
GSDLVR~The same for you...I don't know who you are, but I suspect you were looking at my program based on your comments about Bax and Wicky. Puppies will be here in 2 weeks plus a few days.
Both the Oress x Puck and Wicky x Bax litters should produce very nice puppies...I am anxious for the arrivals.

To lump DDR lines as being too much or unstable is not fair or true. I have several DDR females here and they are impressive in work/temperament and looks. The DDR system no longer exists but is was a very interesting study on how the numbers and faults were documented. The main thing is check out the breeder or lines you are thinking of investing in whether Czech, Belgian, DDR, German there are good and bad in each I am sure. I love the big heads and blocky look of these old lines and to me that are less nervy than some west german lines. I had a Lord daughter years ago now dead "Aundi" and she was one of my favorite dogs good with people, childrem. always ready to work a very hardy healthy dog. Purchase what you want from who you feel comfortable with and don't take anything to serious on this board in terms of advice or you would lose sleep at night.
