Eldee

I think this must be a bad month for us dog owners. On my epi help site there have been three recent similar sad stories. My heart breaks each time I read about someone losing their best buddy. We, as humans can only do our best. We love them, care for them and cry when they leave us. I have had to say goodbye to a few good ones in my time, and I can think of nothing harder on my soul. I will say a prayer for your Banjo tonight, but please know he will meet some good friends at the Bridge, as he waits for you.

Thank you all so much for your kind words at this hard time for meBroken Heart I do hope that Banjo knew how much I did Heart him.
He was just fine a month ago. The only reason he went to the vet was because he was bloated. He still was eating very well  but the last two days he kept bloating and started pee a lot and started to see some pain in his eyes. We did all the testing we could do so the only other was to open him up. I never thought it would be the last time I would see him alive.Cry Smile I hope he will forgive me for letting him go. BanjoRose is the four dog I lost this year. RanaRose (GSD 12yrs old) Enno Rose(GSD 14yrs 11mos) ZicoRose (GSD 13yrs 5mons)
My heart will never be hole again.Sad Smile

My heart grieves with yours. Banjo knew how much you loved him, I don't doubt you told him every day of his life, as I did with mine. Sometimes you wonder just how much more pain you can take. I have always noticed your 'birthday' announcements of your wonderful oldies on here, and loved the celebration and love that they proclaimed. I always thought with wonder that you must have the longest lived dogs of anyone I know....so you have nothing to regret....they got the best and longest lives they could have.  When we have to let them go we do it so that we spare them the pain, but in doing so we take it on ourselves. God bless you and Banjo.

You have lost a lot of wonderful dog friends this year, Vianden. So sorry to hear about Banjo. He had a wonderful life and most definitely knew you loved him! The story about him plucking a pear to bring into the vets office made me smile. Thinking of you during this difficult time. Rose

Oh, no!  Four dogs in one year?  That has to be so difficult!  So very, very sorry!

Spooks

So sorry to read about your loss. I can fully empathise with it. I had just lost one of my GSDs to pancreatic cancer, then 4 weeks later took my other one in for a Laparoscopy to see if she had something stuck in her throat, as she appeared to have breathing difficulties after being fed the night before. Although she seemed fine and had never been ill at all in 11 years, I must have had something set in my mind because I gave her the biggest cuddles going and told her to be a good girl, & how much we loved her. The vet rang me two hours later saying it would be kindest not to wake her from the anaesthesia as she had a grossly enlarged heart and fluid on her lungs. I followed the vets advice...

RIP Banjo Man Rose
