I agree with Wingertshaus. Mr. & Mrs. Mravik from Eurosport were the ones who assisted me in getting my dogs Export pedigree from Slovakia. It was for a dog they had sold to a police dept. 4 years earlier. The Dept. wasn't worried about getting AKC papers so didn't need it at the time, when came into my possession I wanted them, the Mravik's were very helpful and trustworthy.

I would not buy a pup like this with papers hanging in the air. there are other beautiful pups waiting out there with papers.

I agree that Eurosport is very trustworthy. The advise to call Taunya Mravik (from Eurosport) is good and I would call her. If she tells you that you will get paperwork in 7 months then I would totally trust her. I have never heard of them cheating anyone.

It is not uncommon for this dilema when dealing with Czech imports. I bought my male from Eurosport in October and Taunyia emailed me that his paperwork should take another 4 months. I just used my dog as a stud so we too may run into the same situation when the pups are ready to be sold. However now that I was told Akim came from Eurosport...no worries, they are good people, reputable and there should not be a problem. If your heart is set on the pup and it's a good match for what you're looking for don't let the paperwork be an issue I don't forsee it to be a problem. Especially if you are concerned in having it within a year. That is PLENTY of time and I trust it will not take that much longer. Good Luck with your pup.

Taunya and Josef are absolutely straight up super people. If they sold the dog and promised paperwork, then it will happen. Paperwork from there does take a bit longer. They are completely honest and if they said it, I would take it to the bank.

I agree with Veronica's suggestion, but I think $100 to 200 seems a little too low, perhaps 30% of the total purchase price would be about right.

Have to agree with hodie on this. Unless it was a truely exceptional pup, (and how do you know at that age?) I would NEVER pay and walk away with it without the papers in hand. (Been there, done that, got the t-shirt) Once you do you are basicly at the mercy of the breeder to get your papers. Extremely frustrating, and IMO there are too many really great pups out there WITH papers to have to put yourself though the worry.

German documents: Yes. Slovak documents: I wouldn't. I too have had a "mommy dog's" original German docs lost in overseas mail while in the process of trying to register her and her American-born litter. (On the way TO the SV for a Bescheinigung...) Worse: The guy who had owned the female before me had DIED... family moved away... estate still in probate... It took me over a year and a half to get it all straightened out and all pups AKC registered, by which time people were threatening to sue me left and right. I'd hate to think what could happen if the originals had been Slovak. :(((

If you want the pup then I would trust Eurosport as much or more than any other importer. Always a risk but at least you will know they will be straight with you.

Eurosport has a pretty good rep.
