Doug, Speaking from my own experience, it does NOT take that long to get the papers. IMHO that is just an excuse for people who don't make it a priority to get off their lazy a## to get it done. They seem to forget that you exist as soon as your check clears the bank. With my next pup I would never give any money until I had the papers in hand

It takes a long time to get the papers from the foreign registry. When mailed it takes 2 weeks to get to the states from Europe. I purchased 2 pups in June and still waiting for the export pedigrees. I have been in contact with the breeder, and was told the pedigrees have been sent. Hopefully not lost. I have no doubt I will get them, even if we he has to go back to the club and get new ones. I also purchased a female from Germany several years ago. The papers were lost in the mail and we had to start all over. It took a year before I actually received them. It wasnt the sellers fault. It all just takes time. Please have patients.

Totally Agree PSP. I had to take all steps myself, even request the beischinigung from the SV because it didn't come with the dog and paperwork. Had to take pics and follow all the steps becasue as Veronica stated, you have to do it in stages. I wasn't anal about it but I wanted it done and everything was taken care of on my end very quickly. LIke I said earlier, had to wait on DNA twice but it did finally come and I recieved a official paper stating it had taken place. All happened in 3 or so months. 7 has to be a case of sitting on ones thumbs a bit.

Maybe I have a record. My pup is now over a year old and still no sign of her papers. Such a waste as I cannot enter her in competition (I won't do an ILP on her) and she really is a great little girl.

Doug, i think that i have you beat on this one. i bought a ddr shepard last year from a FRIEND of mine who told me about his great pedigree and both parents are akc.. after signing a contract that said the dog would be akc'd, i found out in march that the "owner " of the sire - GRADALENS GROSS did not in fact own GROSS. thus i was not able to register him AKC and the breeder has and is still refusing to do anything about refunding my money in full or in part. i was told that the dog could be registered with another kennel club and that that is it. after filing legal papers for a civil action, he did not show up and now i still have to wait for the appeals process and file a lien against his property to get my money back. ALL PUPPY BUYERS SHOULD HAVE PROOF OF AKC PAPERWORK SHOWN AND GIVEN TO THEM BEFORE BUYING A " AKC REGISTERED DOG."

I bought a puppy from von Fenwald (owner Cindy Hiemenz), and paid $3500 for a "show/working/breeding" female. I got a puppy who I just recently (after a long battle with the AKC and this "breeder" (and I use the term VERY loosely)), got LIMITED registration for. That is, after the dog was 2 years old.... The woman is facing several criminal and civil charges/lawsuits. Mine is next in line. Just waiting for her to do the right thing, but that won't ever happen. Hope yours isn't one from her..... Good luck!

Its ok, I will give the breeder a couple of months more. They are a member of this message board. If I still have no papers in a couple of months, I will out them on this message board. Someone above said it best. After the check clears then you don't exactly get the same attention as you did before.
