Oh no you dit 'ent.
Don't even open that can of worms, that'll just spew gasoline on a fire that will never go out. What's up for the rule changes for next year? Take out the long bite because the show dogs (and many of the working dogs these days) make it hard to watch? (insert Sieger Show Performance Test video here) Lower the jump to 14" because the 100 lb'ers can't make it? Lower the A-frame 'cuz it's too steep? DQ a dog for maintaining eye contact throughout an obedience routine? Eliminate downing on the articles because it's too much of an effort? Take out the blind search because the dog went too fast? Or better yet, use a speed gun or stop watch and DQ a dog for going too fast and not "gaiting" through the exercise?

Gsdpack:
I don't think thats what the op was talking about. He's talking about when the dog is wrapped around the handler and prevents him or her from walking. To me that was absolutely perfect fussing, dog looked like some malinois' I've seen. Heck better! That was amazing! Do you know what he got?

Chillmaster
he got 97 in this perticular trial. He did not do that well in the WUSV (somewhere in mid 80's)
The protection on this dog is weak..unfortunatelly, I dont see a heart in this boy, he scores in 80ties as well.

That's usually the case with dogs with very flashy obedience, too much control, too much attention to the handler. To me that's one of the reasons I have so much respect for people who can V all three phases at championship caliber events. That type of heeling for a Shepherd will get scored poorly. The Shepherd purist judges don't like a Shepherd that heels like a Malinois. Years ago I attended a club trial in Germany that was judged by Peter Jacobs. A friend of mine was trying to get a qualifying LG score with his female Shepherd. Herr Jacobs made a point of commenting on this type of heeling and how it was incorrect for the German Shepherd. Cost my friend his score.
