GSD FAN .. exactly .. at least someone here undersstands canines ! you don't build speed as such .. you build the desire and the need .. motivation ... so often i suggest on this forum : understand the dog and forget about techniques .. what i am amazed at is ... the people most often posting on this forum at times are totally clueless .. and they give advice to the world .. i admire you for using 'common sense' ./. if the dog wants to do it .. it will .. if the dog wants to run fast it will.. no one knows enough to ask : " what is it that will get the dog [ an individual dog at that ] , to want to run fast?" .. that is how you train a dog !! that is how you will buld speed .. some dogs , yes for the bite .. some dogs for a specific toy , others it will be food etc etc.. .. simply .. just [ in animal language of course] ASK THE DOG !! .. He will give you THE ANSWER.. GSDfan .. i bet you have a wondeful GSD ! Good that you share with wisdom and simplicity !!
