See how you go running a full 80 minutes doing your own offense and defence with no padding.

The danger of football also varies by position. It is more dangerous for a QB or RB getting hit by a lineman who might outweigh them by close to 100 pounds than it is for the lineman. In the combat sports you will get punched, kicked, etc., and you will be punching and kicking your opponent. Also, the danger of repeated head trauma is a bigger risk for a boxer, kickboxer, etc., than it is for football players as they will end up getting hit more in the head over the course of their careers than football players. The effects of head trauma don't always manifest until after a fighter has retired. Number of injuries is irrelevant as many more people play football, basketball, soccer, tennis, etc. Another thing is how to compare injuries. Broken bones and damaged ligaments suck but they are nothing compared to brain damage. Yes, athletes in football, soccer, and other contact sports may suffer permanent brain damage but in the combat sports it's pretty much a guarantee.

I honestly don't care how dangerous these sports are. Purely for our entertainment. If they want to risk their well-being for millions of dollars, go for it.

But, yes. Ramming your head into another man's head is manly. In all honesty, I wasn't really even watching the games. I got a new guitar for Christmas and I've been pretty busy with that. I played hockey my whole life and the only fight I got into was with my brother. You should go talk to him. He was well known for fighting.
