I finally got a chance to sit down and read this. LMAO! Bee, you are going to love Montana. I hope you are able to get a cabin for your stay...they are just down the road from Steph and super, super nice. Good on ya for making the trip and taking in "what's his name". I hope you pick a name soon. He needs one. Steph & Steve are awesome and you won't be ready to go when your time is up. I dream of moving to MT. Everyone should get a pup from Steph. It's an experience to remember.

Well, it's true! And just to add my 2 cents worth on having multiple dogs...it's great. Beetree, be ready for some jealousy but rest assured, they will bond eventually. Our two play non-stop now. The other night, Ziggy was up on the love seat and Echo was on the floor beneath him. She was playing with a toy and he was trying his darndest to get her attention when he leaned over to far and fell smack dab on top of her. She let him know real quick that he wasn't supposed to be on top of her and he was confused because it wasn't on purpose. I got a picture of him pouting about it later. I'll have to post it from home. Too funny. Enjoy your trip and your pup!

I also just read this thread. Those puppies are really cute and I love the blue sable. Congrats to Beetree on her new puppy :-)

Ramage, thanks!
And DebiSue, I have a whole lodge booked, place looks real nice and comfortable, and civilized, (they have high speed wi-fi, yeah.) LOL, I guess for nine bucks more, I wasn't going to worry about all the extra room! We only get the one full day, so we'll have to make it count.
Of course now, if you've read the other thread--- I get to be worried my puppy won't fit in the carry-on-bag, Beau Blue seems to be a chunky monkey, from what Steph says!

For those of you feeding kibble, the raw people KNOW!!!!
I just switched to kibble last night for the puppies, and man WHAT A MESS this morning, puppy poop everywhere and LOTS of it, they don't hardly poop at all on the raw diet!!!! Now I can hardly walk through the mudroom to clean it up...YUK!!!! Literally SHIT EVERYWHERE!!!!!
And it STINKS!!!! The raw poop, doesn't stink!!!!
They didn't finish all of it either, they like the RAW MUCHO BETTER!!!
Bee, ya better think about this kibble thing, I think I am gonna stay with the raw, and let the people that get the pups pick up after them when they change them to the kibble!!!
Whadya think PDB readers???? Are ya with me??? RAW over kibble???
Steph

Steph, I think weaning onto raw is the best way to go. You don't have to worry so much about the "right" kibble, either, because their bodies can synthesize and rid themselves of natural excess vitamins and minerals much easier because it recognizes what they are, whereas synthetics can be "missed" and accumulate, causing skeletal abnormalities and other issues. I always try to wean onto homemade raw or something similar. The ones I have now are eating Nature's Variety Instinct raw "bites" and Grandma Lucy's chicken recipe as well as green tripe. IMO/IME, there's nothing like raw for weaning pups. And the Nature's Variety is a tad safer than homemade raw in that it's "cold water pressurized" or some damn thing to kill certain pathogens without cooking the food. When I don't use that, I put some apple cider vinegar in their food to kill a few nasties. Never had a problem w/food.
