Ravi,
Those were some of the most powerful and touching words I have ever read.
Thank you.
I have an old man, he will be 12 soon. His health is failing. He is my first love. Always faithful. He has been with me longer than my husband, who could see our bond very quickly, and still married me anyway.
I am thinking of him as I read your posts, and I know that I will always remember him as the faithful friend who loved me, and was always true. One who always gave me 100% of himself, rain or shine, and never complained.

All dogs claim a spot of their own in their person's heart; some, however, become part of their person's breath and blood as well, and the loss of those dogs physically weakens their person for a time. Ravi, from the way you spoke of him, it was always clear that Juneau was the latter type of dog...the two of you deserved many more years together before a parting time came, and it saddens me to hear of his passing and know the depths of sorrow you and your family are undoubtedly wrestling. I'll always picture Juneau as he was in the videos of him working with your son, teaching your boy about the joy of partnership between dog and handler. My sympathies to your entire family.
