Manjeet,
I am a little confused as to the purpose of your post so it is difficult to give any focus to a reply. It seems you are just wanting to start a discussion rather than make a decision about which breed to choose? Do you have dogs????? Share your experience. Please do so we can understand you better.
I take issue with some of your information e.g 'German Shepherd is more affectionate than Mali'. We're not talking about robots here. The affection is partly at least dependent on the relationship with the owner, early experiences and socialisation, as well as genetics/breeding. I also think that finding a good german shepherd is easier than finding a mali depending on where you live. In the UK I would think it was easier to find a good GSD (just my experience).
At the end of the day, your personality as an owner/handler is critical to your choice and you must take such a decision very seriously and discuss with experienced folk in person (who can get a sense of you) rather than rely on Discovery channel and forums on this matter. I would be daunted by Malis from what little I know, and also remembering that I didn't find it easy to be the leader with my GSDs to start with. Despite some experience now I still know my limits and I do not believe I would be a firm enough handler for most Malis I have encountered.
I look forward to hearing your experiences. Experience is the only answer. You can't buy it...........
Ringsports,
I was perhaps beating around the bush. You've summed up my feelings very eloquently.
the subject of the discussion is absolutely absurd to start with...
Hi guys..
I used to have gsd. Now i am going to get working line (czech) gsd within a month.
I have never owned malinois. But i am considering getting a Malinois this time too but.. I want a discussion that can answer my worries or questions or doubts..
I do not compete in sport but i do my own works(it includes protection and tracking) with my dogs.
I live in Family so dogs will live with us. So Malinois is good enough(affectionate) to be nice pet around my kids and all(as my dogs are my pets). Or its just working machine. I was just wondering, how do gsd differ from malinois when it comes to affection and loyality ??? Thats all. This forum is not only about helping to choose your breed , its also about clearing your doubts and question that may arise in your mind.
ringsports, i meant to say I was not agreeing or disagreeing with your comment re people from India and working dogs, I have no knowledge in this regard to form an opinion, but I was definitely agreeing with you the pointlessness of the post........ it has a teenage quality to it
@ ringsports95 is a funny guy. Just visit www.wolfgreyk9.com .you will come to know how much clue we have.. And visit the site carefully otherwise you will forget your clue about working line gsd... You made me laugh.
Well you made me laugh too, and I don't have the patience or need to visit another website based on some cryptic suggestion. Make your point here if there is one to make. If you're getting a czech in a month how can you not have decided yet re malinois? Are there no waiting lists or are you on multiple lists. Something doesn't add up for me. What are your current dogs (breed). What is your experience and time available for training. Definitely do not get mal based on what little info you provide, you make me nervous.

I make you nervous and you deal with dogs.. Lol..
you better deal with guinea pig.
I have a rottweiler now. He is just pet. I have booked a gsd and mali pups are also available.. So i was considering to get a mali too this time..
I know what I'm dealing with with dogs, but on a forum it's not easy to tune in. No disrespect intended, the written word leaves a lot to answer for so I may have misinterpreted based on what you say. I remain anxious that you would think of getting a mali as a pet and i have not enuf info to go on here to really know. Also depends on lines, not just that its mali. I hope you're not planning on getting a mali and GSD at same time! I couldn't do it, but depends on your circumstances. No need to reply. I've said enough, ciao.
