You are really wrapped around the axel on this, it seems.

My husband is an aircraft mechanic for over 25 years and has to undergo random, but frequent drug testing. He has yet to come up with a positive for taking all the cold/flu meds listed.
I am an ICU nurse. Everyone who comes in the ICU is drug tested. I have yet to see someone who came up positive for Methamphetamines and Cocaine that didnt turn out actual having used it. We are careful with opiates and Benzos, as those are creating positives from prescription meds. (test will differentiate between cocaine and other benzos)
The group listed last are all amphetamines, which has a similar chemical structure to Meth. Thats why they would show as false positives. Most drugs listed are for weightloss. Those drugs dont taste like candy; they are outrageous nasty. A dog who was a FH champion would have worked its nose around it before even attempt to take a lick. This wasnt a puppy eager to get everything and anything in its mouth; Hex was an experienced adult dog.

Nope, just old enough and seen enough to know BS when I read it.
The "Meth detected" is a red herring that has nothing to do with the COD or TOD.
It's the Wizard of Illinois but instead of the Wizard of Oz's "pay no attention to the man behind the Curtain"
this is "pay no attention to the Official Police and Necropsy" instead go with the latest theory du jour "I saw a white van" or "we searched the spot where the dog was found 50X" or "we found Meth in the toxic report" or it must be dog fighters or tweekers or or or
The poor dog was hit by a truck and was found where he landed (or crawled) 12 days later.
No "someone had it in for me and stole my dog" no "post mortem injuries" no whatever the next red herring/theory will be
Like zdog wrote:
"until I see an actual report, i'm not assuming a dog injested or was forced to take anything at this point."
SO how about ending ALL Speculation on both sides of the issue UNTIL and UNLESS all reports and tests are in and a FINAL determination is issued by an official agency of the State of Illinois?

also I believe that 1 should be an L. It's been a while since i've taken a chem class, but D and L stand for dextrorotatory and levorotatory, which is a way of explaining where molecules are on isomers. Not that this has much to do with the conversation, but just fyi.
You are likely correct. I was lazy and scanned the letter in so I could cut and paste it and sometimes scanning a letter into word will mistranslate.

Good God! - It's a long time since I've heard D and L. My first 2 degrees were in straight Chemsitry from Warwick Uni between 1992-1996. Makes me want to go back to it now.
Sorry, bit OT I know.

[shaking head] More distressing is the fact that the vast majority of posts demonstrate little or no empathy for the family suffering the loss.
Where do some of you find the time to waste trying to assasinate the character of someone grieving the loss of his beloved German Shepherd? What possible personal agenda could be worth all the time and effort it takes to keep stirring this pot?
I donated 2 months of lunch money, happily lost 12 lbs., because I am too far away to be of more assistance to Al and his family in their time of loss.
Don't bother to flame me. I don't come here much anymore, probably won't see it anyway.
The preceeding 46 pages reminds me how grateful I am to have a life that doesn't include much time to waste on non-productive behavior.
