Poor Hex. I was really hoping for his sake that is was a simple hit by a truck.

Meth found in the body does nothing to prove he wasn't hit by a truck. Why do you think it does?
How much was there and how long had it been there? Why would anyone deliberately give a canine
meth? What are the effects? The best guess is accidental ingestion at some point prior to being hit by the truck.
Maybe a prescription in the trash or Hex ate something discarded in the street while out training or competing months ago? You guys are graspping at straws again.
How do you all think the Meth got there?

LOL, Thomas. You're right, of course. It's far more likely that Hex went snooping around and stumbled on some meth all by himself and then was hit by a truck.
As I've said from the beginning...poor Hex.

Methamphetamine is a component of several prescription medications. Dogs ingest weird things. They lick at urine, eat excrement and vomit. The metabolites of methamphetamine can be detected for many years after ingestion in living systems as well as in carrion and skeletal remains.
That methamphetamine metabolites were found really means just that. In and of itself the information does not allow any conclusions to be drawn.

Of course it is. But how much? Without that answer, alleging that he got into some prescription meds (which I have never had a dog who showed interest in) is a bit presumptuous.

Time to stop thinking "outside the box". Stop speculation -
So, It seems to be METH/drug users....????
So METH users not only are trying to kill themselves but give no quarter to anything around them.
POOR HEX

Think I'd wait for an actual report. No offense to Molly, but not who I go to as a credible source in a dog scandal. I'm sure the report will be published if it shows anything or not.

no offense "Chaz" LOL then don't mention it at all. more drama. find the tox report yourself. Or wait for it.
by Dobermannman on 16 December 2011 - 02:12
There is no toxic report to find. There was a "statement" from Jeff and the PI saying that Meth was found
in Hex. Nothing about where (blood, muscle, stomach contents) nothing about levels or type of meth
(pharmaceutical or street). Nothing about if the meth in anyway would change the COD or TOD.
